Definitely bring a chair...  ::)

Have to point out here that while you wouldn't want to sit on the ground in the fields NEAR the woods, IN the woods and in the MIDDLE of the fields are (almost completely   ;) ) poison-ivy-free.  Having said that, I'd rather sit around a campfire in a chair than in the dirt.  8)

unfortuneatly my wife and i will not be able to make this event, as my wife is with child. pregnant ladies are not fun in the woods. hopefully next year you will do this again if it turns out well. if you do we will be there with a small child in tow. however we will be at MDRF since she will finally be past the 1st trimester.

best of luck to you for your turn out steev
and to the rest of you...just have a good time for me.

It appears that I will be unavailable for RenStock.
This is the weekend my son returns home and we need to be close to receive him.
Sorry to miss it, sounds like a great time.

Ah anticipation! Besides bringing the Renaissance Bubble Machine, I'm packing a 41" Radio Controlled Pirate ship, which is infested with scurvy knaves. Went up to Lancaster county yesterday to the Pennsylvania RR Museum. Their gift shop is the closest store that carries Reading Draft Premium Reserve Soda. I bought a 12 pack of their various Birch/Root Beers and a variety pack that has Black Cherry, Vanilla Cream, Orange Cream, and Sarsaparilla, as well as Birch Beers. Look to the sky, as there may be a dragon flying around.................... ;D ;D ;D .......The Bubble Wright

Ah, yes, I'm getting excited too!  Lined up the privvies and hand-washing stations (OOOO- sinks with water and paper towels!), have the gathering areas and paths all cleared and mowed.  Still have to make some signs to designate parking, privvies and mundane areas (NONE SHALL PASS!), have to bring down some firewood and bricks for campfires and have to drag a bunch of big trees out of the woods for a bonfire.  Huzzah!

Hey all!  Last bump for the thread before the event- I hope that any of you without plans for this weekend can be convinced to join us for our renaissance camping "be-in".  If you are not into camping, please consider dropping in for the day on Saturday or Sunday.  We've got privvies, a hand-washing station, a BIIIG grill, there are paths and gathering places in the fields and woods, 3 canoes and 2 kayaks, plenty of parking, camping spots and firewood, and a huge bonfire ready in one of the fields.  We should even have a performance by one of the Aerial Angels from MDRF.

AND we have the option to show outdoor movies on a big screen:  I'm thinking Monty Python's Holy Grail, Elizabeth:The Golden Age, Jabberwocky, LOTR, or anything else that people want to bring on DVD.

Hope you can make it.  Renmail me for directions or call-301 575 6825

Went to RenStock yesterday. The event was on a high bluff overlooking the Sassafras River with plenty of trees for shade... which was definitely needed since the temperature hit a 100 degrees F. Although about 50 people had indicated they would be attending, a mere handful showed up. The lucky ones had RVs with generator powered air conditioning. I attended just for the day, bringing the Renaissance Bubble Machine and the 41" radio controlled pirate ship. Did I mention it was hot? It was so hot that the dragon kite stayed in his lair and refused to come out to play. However, because of the humidity, the bubble machine made copious amounts of bubbles which lasted quite a while. Later in the day we went down to the river and sailed the pirate ship. Unfortunately, it was low tide and the 10" weighted dagger keel kept getting stuck in the mud. There were plenty of nipperkins in the water more then happy to assist in ungrounding the vessel. I left around 5 of the clock as the heat was taking its toll on me. It was however, a most wondrous day with most wondrous people.  ;D ;D ;D

Thank you so much for coming, Felix!  Your presence and your entertainments were invaluable.  We're scheduling another round @ the same location on Nov. 19-21 and I hope that you will attend (and enjoy a day in the woods without suffering heatstroke)!
