MacKee, I'm not even sure what I did to my foot. As I was unloading the carriage after our journey to Scarborough, I apparently hit my foot on something, or hit something against it. One of those times when you bump into something, say "shiner bock," and then go on. Later, I thought I felt a rock under the strap on my sandal, reached to clear it, and found that my foot was greatly swollen! My toes are currently a lovely royal shade of purple.

As it is not my habit to conjoin with Sir Jackson Daniels while keeping the many horses that pull my carriage under control, I cannot lay blame for this incident upon him, nor upon Mother Nature and her anger on the morning after faire. No, good sir. The blame is mine alone.

If we know there are travelers coming to the 8, we'll probably book a room there and save the commute. And yes, you should pop in Sunday for a few hours!

As much as we would like to stay closer to faire, we will be staying in Lake Dallas with Angie's mom (about an hour drive )

If weather predictions and/or my foot don't improve, we will likely, and regrettably, cancel plans to come down, as tentative as they were to begin with.

Nim did get the time off, and there're no tasks at my job that can't hold a day or two. But with last trip's storm experience, and the storms that came roaring through here last night (which I again slept through, but did a lot of damage in the area), I'm a little nervous about driving through yet another storm.... forecast looks a little better than it did yesterday. I think I'll go ahead and book the room, just in case, because we really want to come! We'll make ready to travel, and just decide Friday morning.

Merlin, you know if you get here I'm sure someone would help you get a chariot to cart you around if your foot isn't better. 
I did that the 2nd time I went to faire.  I was there, that is what mattered.  It is also how I got my faire name.
"Lady Stitch, she who battle the mightly needle and lost."  (I had a sewing needle removed from my foot 3 days before faire, but was still detemined to go.)

I'm pretty sure the foot will be fine, or good enough. My primary concern at the moment is the weather. Not so bad once we there, but driving 5 hours through heavy weather is too stressful, and dangerous.

I'm glad you're foot is getting better!  I agree driving in it is stressful and dangerous, as I once drove 5 hours through a Christmas snow storm in OK!  But how can you believe a forecast that's a week away, when the prognosticators cannot even agree about the next day?
