Since I can't grow my hair out (at least on my head) I grow my beard for the faires in the fall.  Looking at contacts 1)to be more period 2) so I can shoot my longbow without my glasses sliding down.

That's me! ;) (That, and so I can make hairstyles that fit with costumes I wear to scifi conventions)

Some of my non-faire friends were talking.  One of them mentioned how they had gone to a faire a few years ago.  Of course, the fluff-age was a main topic of conversation.  Another one of them remarked that he had heard a woman in a bountiful bodice remark to one of her friends that "the puppies were ok, but were their noses sticking out?"

The group just about fell over and wet their pants laughing at this, but I just stood their waiting to find out what they were laughing about, and then it dawned on me that they were laughing at what she said, because this remark sounded completely normal.

...you just spent $300 on your new outfit for faire, wear it once, and the next day immediately start plans for your next $300 faire outfit.

...You feel guilty and embarassed that you have not been able to start your new Garb for a new outing with your Rennie friends...and would rather just not show up because of it...

(I'll be visiting at JLPD anyway, but not for too too long due to the lack of garb... :-\)

and when you look at what's in there, the only mundane clothes you brought is clean underwear.

... underwear in garb?  Especially mundane?  ???
