Cap'n The Texas Renaissance Festival
TRF has canceled all weekend activities scheduled for Friday, September 9 thru Sunday, September 11, due to wild fire evacuation orders currently in place and issued by Grimes County Emergency officials. This includes the final wedding tour of the season, cast rehearsals, new staff orientation and the work weekend. All activities will be rescheduled for a later date. The grounds remain closed to the public until evacuation orders for the area are removed by county officials.

I'm listening to the scanner and they said it is approaching downtown magnolia...

And the fire is jumping some of the fire retardant lines put down today.

Fire jumped the fence and is heading to 1488 now.

This is very confusing.  Why isn't the Police Reporter page posting the same?  This is now getting close to where Advent and Cat live and not far from us at all.

Some pics I took on the way home of the flare up.  These are Walden Rd and 105 facing south.  Scary!

Getting unconfirmed reports from two neighbors that were up at the Kroger on Woodlands Pkwy and Kuykendahl, and my mother-in-law who was at Rayford and I-45, that there is smoke coming from somewhere in the Woodlands, possibly around Grogan's Mill. Any info on that?

Breandan I just looked and don't see anything.  Just heard on the scanner about a possible fire at 1488/Honea Egypt.  This may just be someone calling about the smoke though.

Received confirmation that evacs are getting closer to where we live.  We have just finished loading the camper and are now in a wait and see position.  I truly love our friends Cat, Katy(Rapier's daughter), Richard and Tom that came and helped us.  Now I'm just trying to keep myself together.

One of the evacs ends right in front of where their subdivision starts.  I chatted with Ash on FB.  Cat is heading to Kris's house and Richard is here hooking up their trailer, he will go to his parents house if need be.

It looks like the fire is moving farther from us. We live next to sire by Mikes country store on Nichols Sawmill.

But we had evacuated our animals to a friend's house by high meadow ranch. Now that area is in more danger than we are.

My husband and daughter are retrieving our goats. Another friend who lives closer to Tomball college is taking our horses and cows.

I have the truck packed with our suitcases if I need to get the children out in a hurry.

Scanner is reporting another column of smoke coming from the north side of 1488 just west of 242. That's about six miles due north of us, so I am keeping an eye out for the smoke plume.
