"UPDATE
September 7, 2011
In an early morning assessment with the Fire Department and the Forest Service, emergency personnel believe the fires in Montgomery County are 80 to 85% contained with all fire lines holding.
A complete assessment of the area is underway to help determine if evacuated areas and roads can be opened.

I just got this from a friends Facebook Status.

If you know anyone who is in need, please forward to this.  I feel very helpless sitting in Mobile and not being about to help.

A Man named Matt Daniel has enough pasture for about sixty horses. So if anyone knows someone with horses displaced by the fires give him a call 832-769-1879.
He can move the horses, ten at a time. Also another man Ron Derrick from Lampassas has 2500 acres, 20 stall barn and several pastures. He said that if anyone needs a place to put animals, call him at 512-734-6080.
Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

People that didn't have time to trailer their horses wrote their phone number on them or attached to bridles.  Hopefully the horses will find their families and homes again.

Photo # 11 has some very familiar pavement.

Picture #4 is two streets from the Lord Marquis de Montrose castle (aka Mark).  Some of you know him as one of the crazy fellas that dresses in drag on the Day of Wrong at Scarby and on AHE at TRF.

Grounds are still safe, but a flare up has occurred near RenFair Dr and the areas around there have been evacuated again. Not out of the woods yet.

Bonny Pearl

I went to my office for a few hours today.  On the way home the smoke looks like the fire is at full force again. Not sure what is going on.  :-\

We came home, but are leaving again just to be safe. I have heard that the fire has reached the grounds. I don't know if that is true.

This was just posted on the TRF FB page, no mention of the faire itself having a fire on the grounds:

Grimes County Sheriff's Office
090711 5:05pm The flareup south of Riley Road is still ongoing, but remains south of Riley Road. The flareup behind Foxfire has breached the fire lanes. Firefighters are actively working to regain control at this location. The fire is still south of Foxfire and has not reached the subdivision. Will post additional information as it becomes available.

The flareup south of Riley Road has shifted to the south and at this time is not posing an immediatey threat to the northern fire lanes. The flareup to the southeast of the Foxfire Subdivision has been pushed back into the containment area by firefighting personnel. The flareup did briefly breach the firelane earlier this afternoon. Law enforcement individually notified several residences on FM 1774 to evacuate because of this situation.

The Command Post has advised Texas Forest Service (TFS) has named this fire the Riley Road/Crown Ranch Fire. TFS is reporting via Command there is a 60 percent containment.

There are no new evacuation orders. The following is a list of the MANDATORY EVACUATION areas and streets for Grimes County ONLY: Lake Holly Hills/Mill Creek Subdivision, Foxfire Subdivision, area immediately behind the Texas Renn Fest (Renfair Drive, Tammy Circle, Devin Court, CR 303), Plantation Lakes (off Riley Road), Saddlecreek Subdivsion (off Riley Road). Earlier this afternoon, it was posted that the Millcreek Subdivision was open in response to a question on another thread. That post was an error and our apologies for any confusion that caused.

We will post if there is any signficant change in the fire flareups, evacuation order updates or road closure updates.

Grimes County Sheriff Facebook page is posting accurate information.  Don't listen to rumors.
