Would you like to see your mailman in kilts? Check out link to a Boston Globe article...

My mailman does shorts no justice; a kilt could only help!!

I hope he wins and gets the uniform approved. It makes sense and it looks just fine.

I think it's a great idea. I have an uncle that's a mailman and if wants to wear a kilt then by golly I say lat them wear a kilt.  Plus I love a man in a kilt.   ;)  I do understand the part of the article about getting in and out of the mail truck, but like a lady wearing a skirt it just takes a little reminder that not everyone wants to see what the good Lord gave you.

As the article points out "(another) mail carrier wasn't sure the kilts would be right for the hard work of fending off dogs...". Not if you have a claymore!

Oooo...  I wouldn't mind seeing my mailman in a kilt  ;)

Never heard it refered to as a "Male Unbifurcated Garment." :D

There is a mailman that comes past the shop, and he wears the regulation shorts on hot days, with tall dark socks, presumably also regulation. It is bad.

I say, if they want to wear a kilt, they should be able to.

I first heard in connection with Utilitkilts so I suspect they and their converts have been spreading the term.

Hehe, I have the blue cord one. I asked the head of my Union if I could wear mine at work (I'm a male RN) and I was told NO! But yet people from "other" cultures can wear head wraps and skirts at work.  :P

Lord Figaro

When I wore mine to work some people balked about it till I brought up the issue of diversity in the work place, and how can we claim to be open to it, when (and I pointed out the same thing you mention Sleepy) If some cultures are allowed to wear head wraps and such then why should the Celtic culture be squashed. No more noise from others after that.
