"AMAZING" just doesn't say enough.

What a portfolio of your work you have Lady Kathleen!

Lady Rosalind

Very neat! I love this portrait, and can't wait to see the finished gown!

Thank you all.

Working on this gown makes me appreciate more the Tailors and Seamstresses of the 16th century. All the handsewing of pearls, precious gems, etc., on the gowns that Queen Elizabeth I wore. Some made a good living at what they did. Others made little to nothing in exchange for food in their belies and a roof over their heads.

I have the other shoulder roll to complete, then on to the Bodice. THAT will take many hours!

A closup of the shoulder roll from the portrait. I am pretty close.

What a great idea, to apply the false "poufs" to a solid roll! I am totally stealing that!  ;D

Such detail, Lady K!

Here are parts one and two of my maternity garb in progress: a high-necked smock and linen kirtle with a shortened waistline, that I should be able to wear with or without a loose outer gown.  Next up for the kirtle: secure the shoulder straps, hem, trim, and add lacing in one side for an inner pocket, since I can't wear a belt and need to avoid carrying my heavy basket.  Then, I can move onto the loose gown and accessories.
