LadyStitch

Last week I couldn't' sleep so I made a waist cincher for a friend who is going to an even this weekend. She finnally got me her daughter's waist measurement yesterday.  Turns out I had an upholstery scrap, boning, and lining as well as a corset pattern in my stash that fit her. In 2 and half hours I have just the lining to stitch up, and the gromets to put in.  I'll post pictures soon as it is complete.

I have been talking about making my scrap fabric coat for a while.  Here is the first few sections being cut out.
I wanted it to look like random pieces and that is what I am getting.

CenturiesSewing

Game of Thrones/LotR embroidery design transferred to water solb. stabilizer for hand embroidery..

Simarillion inspired Elven Robe, I used my bathrobe as a pattern base!

Little bit of "dragon scale/arrow head smocking to take in some extra fullness.. of course now I have to correct the collar...

Better shot of the fabric pattern

Going back through some files I may have forgotten to post this? It is wearable as is but I want to go back and add facings in green silk, collar, cuffs, the gores and one day spangles. Pattern is scaled straight up from The Tudor Child. From the remains of my faux blackwork shirt, lined with linen.

Further proof I have too many projects going at once, I've been working on this in bits and pieces the past few weeks.

Aqua Elf Dress

There is an under dress made for it, but it doesn't fit on the form. What I have left is beading the neckline, cutting the panne velvet into a cloak and stamping it, beading the sash and finishing up the grey silk belt.

Serenity

I finally have something to show here!  I have taken the dive (more like a belly flop) into the world of sewing garb  ;D  It's not great, but it's a start.  Here is the bodice part of my very first kirtle!

Still working on the skirt.  That'll be another post begging for help  ::)  Thanks for looking!!

Bits and pieces coming together for a 'bethan nobleman's suit for my sweetheart's very first faire!
Materials include lots of leather, silk, and cotton velveteen accents...

That's a few panes, skirting pieces, and a nearly finished sleeve.

Attempting a sketch.  Sleeves cartridge pleated to the bodice.  Trim along the neckline, front opening, and at the edges of the skirts.  The funny brown dots are me figuring out the arrangement of amber glass beads.  The beading will not go on the underside of the sleeves.  There will probably be beading on the upper 2/3 of the bodice to allow for wearing a belt.  The front will lace with concealed lacing rings.  The seam at the wrists will be open about 2 inches to allow fitting my hand, and fasten with a loop and a button.

That green and the trim are striking, Irma. I canot wait to see how this all play out.

Love the green with that trim...can't wait for pictures of the finished  (or mostly finished) piece!

Lady Cecil-I like that use of pinking on that tab trim.
You folded a strip of fabric longways, snipped the holes then backed it with a contrast color?
I am going to experiment with that technique; it looks a like a nice way to add small detail and color without a huge amount of sewing.....I imagine you had plenty of that with those panes ! ;D
What doesn't kill me-had better run.
