I  have to sew in the lining to Kathryn Fae Weldon's bodice. Then it will be ready to go to the Shoe Repair for grommetting. Then the rest of the ensedmbler sent off by the weekend to her.

Pictures are forth coming.

That is absolutely lovely, Lady Kathleen! One of these days when I have the money fabric I will attempt something of that caliber. Until then, I'm just gonna drool over the amazingness of that dress! :D

Thank you all!!!

I display my work for all to help educate, for you to  be inspired to create, and for you to sew garb that YOU will enjoying wearing for many years to come. I continue to learn new things with each project I undertake. What i learn, I pass along.

The main fabric is a lightweight Cotton Velveteen in a deep Wine/Maroon shade that I special ordered from my local JoAnn Fabrics store. The contrast fabric as well. The trim is called ELIZABETHAN SCROLL from Pillaged Village. The Buttons are from LACE HEAVEN that I ordered a gross of a while back.

Velveteen is my favorite fabric to work with in that it flows so nicely and is very rich when embellished and photographed.

Oh, I do so love cotten velvet as well.

This gown has been a favorite for years.  It has worn well and I can toss it in the washer to boot!

(I can't access my photos from work, so just follow the link)

Velveteen and fine wale courderoy are inded wonderful -and the textural elements to this dress are awesome - grossgrain ribbon in a chevron pattern really make a nice effect.  It's even more impressive in person!

I'm so proud of you for getting your work on Jen Thompson's feature site -- and for her to say your gown is a 'knockout' .... wow.  ;D Jen is one of my heroes of garb making. I can only hope that someday she says something half as nice about my work.

Till then, I'll just have to envy you a lot.  ;)
