I suppose this post is a little late in coming, but better late than never-right?

Blue has already decided Dennis & I are McLotofus- not that I would have it any other way.

So, here we are standing up to be counted.  And we shall be camping Thanksgiving Thursday-Sunday, hopefully right next to Blue. *evil grin*  Just beware, we have floggers and like to use em!  *bigger evil grin*

Well, we will actually be there Wednesday night if they are gonna let us in that early.  If not, Blue and I have decided we'll park the pop up on the side of the road instead!

Oh, and Im workng at Moonbeams Saturday (near Tortuga- greek section)- so say hi if you stop in. (look for the buxom redhead who will most likely be covered in Lovely Lady Iris's Paints!)

I'm confused bout the whole McLotofus thing.... can someone explain to me how if everyone is a member, there are people who are not allowed in the camping area?  that doesn't make any sense to me?  are there rules to this organization?  a list of good people and a list of bad?  who makes the rules?  do u vote on them?

I've never heard it said that there is anyone that is not allowed in the McLotofus camp.  And since everyone is a member, everyone is welcome to join McLotofus at camp.  Its seems though that "Everyone" should be defined as faire goers, and the immediate friends and family of faire goers.  "Everyone" would include anyone that frequents message boards such as this; anyone who buys a ticket and enters the gates of a faire; anyone who works inside a faire; and in some small cases anyone who enjoys camping outside the faire for the pure enjoyment of the company of the above mentioned "anyone's".  Without a definition you end up with what we programmers call and infinite loop. In this case a loop of confusion.

Its not practical to consider the entire TRF campground as McLotofus because there are those who don't want to be a member [Even though as defined above, they already are (o: ]  So, just like every other clan out there (mine included), borders are designed to keep the clan safe and happy.  But as other threads have pointed out, everyone in that campground is Fairemily (Thanks Taarna).  And just like there is a fence between your house and your neighbors house (in my case to keep my dog contained) it doesn't mean that there is no relationship there.  We are all still neighborly, and we all watch out for each other and we all protect the borders of our neighbors and we protect our neighbors property (Thanks Brigaqueen and Joe Horn).

To some degree there has to be control over who is in your campsite.  How else can you feel safe leaving your campsite, gear, clothes, valuables (which if truly valuable should be locked up anyway) and other personal belongings behind unattended all day?  Granted you can't build a wall and post a sentry (wouldn't that be awesome though - mini campground kingdoms) So we keep our family and friends close and those who have not made themselves known as members of the clan we keep an eye on (o: 

Shun no one, but be smart!  And good gawd I hope I don't stir up a hornets nest with this reply.  But anyone please feel free to correct me if my perception is skewed.

The is no one who is not allowed in the camping area as far as I know.
There are also no rules, there is planning for events... but no rules... ever
No voting ever either except on a general invasion weekend and even then its more planning when the most of us can be in one spot at once
As far as I know no one has ever been turned away from our campsite as long as they introduced themselves. We have had to get a few to move along because they were only there to either steal or mooch but that is a rare case... and it isn't like we took names so if they want to come back they can of course.
McLotofus is a group without boundaries and without drama. We were made mostly to give a name to the crowd from here that camps together anyways but have grown to include anyone who just doesn't want to camp alone.
I am a member of many groups out there, and they all have different rules of what to do and who is allowed where etc etc. McLotofus does not.
We do not have a "good" and "bad" list (with the possible exception of the dreaded ravers) and quite honestly I personally would drop out of the group so fast it would make your head spin if I even heard of such a thing (and several others would to I would bet).

McLotofus was named as it was in an effort to show that we are anyone and everyone at faire. If you want to be in the group... you are. It's really as simple as that. We have never and will never kick anyone out because you would have to have broken a rule in order to be removed... and since there are no rules... no way to be kicked out.

We take pride in NOT being exclusive. Many groups are exclusive, you have to do this or act like that or whatever to be in the group. We do not operate on that level. This is not a clique, this if fairmily and just like your real family you do not get to choose who is in it. You may have a bad seed or two (seven in my family) but they are still family. We are fairmily and we accept everyone (even a raver who needs a home... shudder).

It isn't often I type long posts like that, but this group means a lot to me... and having it stay on course means even more.

My friends and i were planning on staying with McLotofus for this weekend festivities.  You know the 4 of us: lis, charles, lady elizabeth, and myself.  We stopped by and met many of you on various nights.  There's also another rennie friend who has a booth at Four Winds that is bring down his camper and wanted to stay near us also.  So we were hoping yall would include 2 campers in the mix for this weekend.  We are all nice, friendly, and sharing rennies. 

But I am friends with ALL rennies.... and not all rennies like other rennies sometimes, sad as that may be.  These other rennies that are not liked are NOT staying with us, but might come to visit for a few min one nite.... What i can promise is that NO drama will be started by me or my other 4 that are camping there.... no doubt bout that!! We are all planning on bring food and drinks to share with everyone.  My sister and I will belly dance, and my friends will bring good cheer....

if other rennies i know stop by unannounced to visit me, i would hate for them to be thrown out!! that would make me very sad.  i am not exclusionary in my friendships.  but i'm a terribly loyal friend when someone is mean to someone i love.

No, no one will be asked to leave. If we don't know someone we will likely ask them who they are looking for and then direct them along their way. If their way is to your camper... then thats where we will send them.
Honestly, I think the being thrown out would be more like when my cousin Kent comes to visit. As long as he acts right he is welcomed as family, when he gets drunk and belligerent he gets asked to leave. Next day he gets to come back and try again.
As long as anyone is there we only ask they behave as we would when we invite someone into our house. And as far as them not being liked... that is an person by person individual thing and as long as they don't aggravate the individual then there is nothing to worry about.
Fair enough?
