My middle son, Robbie, 18, took a paintball in the eye yesterday.

the Dr is saying a "serious eye injury" and a "detached lens"

first surgery is today at 3:30

Prayers & good energy would be most welcome.

Light candles, shake bells, beat drums, raise a voice.....

whatever YOU do, please do some for him........

Update:
1st surgery tuesday went as good as it could.  mainly an exploratory.  determined no deeper damage to ocular (eyeball itself) or surrounding tissue.  one of his lenses, inside the eyeball, is partially detached and will need to be removed, but they want to wait for the eye to "calm down".  appointment wednesday was a pressure check to make sure it's not getting worse.  so far so good.  has an appt friday to meet the new surgeon and schedule next surgery, which will proll'y be next week.... when they will remove the lens.  then, again wait for eye to "calm down".... and then another surgery to put in an artificial lens.... which will hopefully give him sight back in that eye.... but there are no guarantees.  currently he can see only light, shadow & vague shape from that eye. legally blind in the right eye.

Keep the magic coming, all you can spare.

Keeping your son in my prayers.
  My husband is  a avid  paintball player, although he  does not play as  much  as  he use  to  when we lived in Califonia.    He     always  wears a  protective  face  mask    and  sheild  to protect his  face  and  eyes, and    arm  and  knee  pads but  even  then   you have  to be  careful, especially  if  someone   has their  gun set   at a faster  speed  then  they should  have   it at.    Those paintballs  can really fly  at  a fast speed  and  they hurt  when you  get  hit  by  them.  My husband  has  received  some  good   bruises  and welts   from getting  hit  by  someone     who did  not have  their  speed   properly adjusted  on their  gun.
   Hope  everything turns  out okay  for  your  son. Keep us  posted .

My Dad had new lens' put in his eyes years ago because his catarax were so bad.  He was amazed!!

Thanks for keeping us posted.  There is nothing worse than to hear about children who have been hurt...
