Well, I went to the USPS site and entered the number, and it told me it had been logged through and sent out from the originating P.O., and was en route, and I have the option of requiring that it be signed for...

And no, I will never EVER order from her again...

Phoenix, this woman was just saying that her company was behind in their orders by more than 100 corsets, and they're finally sending out that many back orders...

Wish I was getting 100... I'd go into my own business!!!  LOL

ROFL  Oh, Grov... you crack me!!!  Took me just a minute, until I went back and read Phoenix's question again, but that is soooo classic!!!  :D

If you were getting that many corsets I'd say share the wealth. LOL. ;D

Either that or that's one heck of a woman!

I cut & sewed my Victorian jacket mockup.  I made the usual additions to the hip area and with the exception of one little alteration - one arm scye had a slight gap - it was perfect.  I will cut out the body & start the sewing process tomorrow.  Although this is an informal ensemble - the equivalent of capris & a twin set - I'm very excited about it.  Nothing like stretching the sewing muscles.

As requested, hat pins:

Those are lovely. I was wondering about those pins myself I've seen them at Jo-Ann's before and I was wondering how do you keep the beads at the top of them so they don't slide down the pin? Hot glue or some kinda spacer bead?

I'm almost ashamed to admit I used plastic earring backs - the itty bitty kind that are little tubes w/a tiny tiny hole.  You can see them under the bottom beads.  Alternatively you can use the pin clutches that look like little acorns & have the hole all the way through, which I probably will end up doing so I have no visible plastic.

EDIT:  You can also use crimper beads, but that's way too much like work.

I'd only ask to be allowed to aid in their donning. 8)  These hands have skill but I'm getting out of practice.

I can attest to that skill, having been laced by those hands a couple of times, along with all the other ladies present at the time!  ;)

Sooooo...  I now have two leather corsets!  The green one is very much as described in the eBay ad, and is gorgeous (except for the 3-4 scratches in the leather), although quite long in the waist (which I am not...LOL), so I'm not sure how that will work.  The one that is supposed to be a dark chocolate brown is actually closer to a tan, and the straps are in the wrong place for an underbust corset.  They come down right in front across my bust, instead of to the sides like it shows in the picture, making it an overbust corset instead...  ::)  Still, if I complain and return them, I doubt I'd ever get them back, or my money, and I can fix the straps on the brown one myself, although the shiny silver/chrome grommets right in front are gonna be kinda weird...  Oh, and they both have black laces, which I just wasn't expecting for some reason!

Upshot - I'm rather ambivalent... although I just have to grin every time I pick them up and am hit by that new leather scent!!!  I will say that they're both extremely well made, and the squish factor is pretty good, even though it will take a few weeks to train them before I can pull them as tight as they're supposed to be...

Overall, I guess I'm more happy than not, although I'm not planning on ever buying from this company again, just because of the delay, and the design differences between what was advertised and what I received.

Now... I just need to find someone to help me lace them...  :P

Rani, I'm so glad you got your corsets.  Mine - underbust - fits almost like one of those shelf bras.  There is no earthly way it is "underbust", either.  At any rate, I'm glad you'll have them to wear them to fair.

I've been working all weekend on my jacket.   The body is complete & I put together the sleeves today; however, I think the sleeve lining makes the sleeves too bulky so I'll probably take the lining out.   That was a huge waste of time.

So I was messing around a bit awhile back and this is what came of it.(posted on Brass Goggles as well). Let me know what you think.

I have a few other ideas lurking around my head too it's just a matter of putting pencil to paper.

Cool sketch.  I like the shape of the ship itself but the balloon looks a bit small, especially on the right where the ship looks heaviest.

I like the sketch.  The balloon could be bigger, but I love the finny things at the end.

BubbleWright, that sounds absolulutely dreamy/steamy - will try to save some pennies to go.
