Of all the years I've been going to TRF this is something that I've wanted to do but never have.  Think I will have to be sure to remedy that this season.

Same here.  Last few years it's been a "mayhaps next year." 
And this year will be the same, "mayhaps next year."

I've wanted to do that since I first heard of it... but I doubt I'll be in a position to drop that much cash on a single meal anytime in the near (or likely far, either) future!  Besides, for the amount I'm able to eat now, they should let me take several to-go containers with me! 

I'm really looking forward to a "kitchen sink" baked potato, the fruit and cheese platter... and a frozen sangria!!!  Those are my favorites!  I know there are those of you who make a bee-line for the Scotch eggs... but I head in a completely different direction!    Really sad that I won't be able to have the sausage kolache this year, though... but maybe I'll have to make up for it with a bite or two of Scally's chocolate covered cheesecake...  heheh

And that's probably the biggest issue for me... I can't drink enough now to make it worth the price, either.   And even when I was able to drink that much, I had my renlet with me, so I still couldn't.  Ah, well... we will still have an amazing time!  I keep looking for something like a Queen's Tea... but I'm not seeing anything like that.  Does TRF not have one?

We still have to find another tent!  It's about time for people to start listing them on craigslist, though... so we'll see what we can find. 

I would really like to bring a pop-up this year, if I can find a reasonably priced, sturdy one... just so we have some extra shade and shelter.  Have to start looking around, and hoping for some awesome end-of-summer sales!

Tents are kind of an iffy thing to lend, even to good friends!  If something happens to it, you could be out in the cold (literally, depending on the time of year) at an event like TRF... especially if it's a nice tent!  I used to be fine with the small crappy tents, but then I got a taste of "comfort camping" and after that I wanted my Portable Mansion anytime I slept outdoors!  I like having enough room for all of our gear, and the queen size air mattress... plus room to get garbed for Faire in the morning.  I bring carpets for the floor, and all of the nice heavy bedding from my own bed, just so it's nice and comfy.  I'm thinking about getting a folding mattress platform this year, just so I don't have to get up and down from the ground, and I can sit down on the edge of the bed to put on my shoes!  My knees protest too much for all that, these days... and the ground cold seems to seep into the air in the mattress and keep it extra chilly, as well!  Might even need a tent heater this year...
