Damn Canucks like to start early... and my head is pounding from WAY to much LaBatt's last night.  Houston bound Monday morning... the Ops manager here didn't like the way i have with words, so my stay has been cut short a few days.  :o   I guess he didn't like being called "ignorant" and "stupid" all in the same breath... *truth hurts, you f'n bozo*  Lucky i had a big dog director witness the whole exchange, who also told him that i was spot on with almost all of my assessments of his operation and management style.  ;)

I agree Laird.  It is sometimes fun to be an @$$hole, but only when it is needed.  Not something that should be attempted on a daily basis.   ;)

We've got our first review of the game- "Sweet my book came in. It's huge. Lots of awesome background, dosen't leave me scratching my chin wondering what the hell. Layout is good, and im liking the actual paper, not the shiny glossy fake stuff usually in books. Brings me back to the old style games. The artwork is amazing. Im so glad to get this book. I have already started writing a module for it. Hopefully it will be as engaging as the book is." :D

they're not kidding, either, I think we published the thickest RPG book ever- 2" thick, with 81 pages of background and history before it even hits the rules. I got a bit... wordy :D

I didn't even realize you were there already... that was quick!  Obviously they're not used to people who speak their mind up there.  Although I can imagine that someone your size might be seen as a bit... intimidating... especially while you were telling them how incompetent they were in front of their boss!  :o  Hope you're enjoying the weather, at least...  :P

Nice logo.

Thanks, Crash.  I'm pretty pleased with it...

B, that's awesome!  And I totally understand how easy it is to get "wordy"...  ::)  :D  In fact... well, lets just not go there.  LOL  Congrats on such a great first review!!!

We're going to the drive-in theater tonight!  It's been... well, more years than I want to count since I've been to a drive-in, and Scally has NEVER been to one, so tonight we're going to go see a triple feature!  First, I have to sit through Kung-Fu Panda (yes, I know I will probably want to kill something by the time it's through...) but after that is X-Men, First Class, and then THOR!!!  Not in 3D, unfortunately, but it will only cost us $9 to get in... total.  And the snack bar actually has prices that are cheaper than most fast food places, and nothing like theater prices!  $2 for a large popcorn...?  And pizza and burgers, also!  And... PICKLES!!!  :D

I had forgotten how much fun just the anticipation of going to the drive-in really is...

Drive-ins were once a great way to see movies! We saw a Planet of the Apes quintuple feature one night!

The last really big drive-in theater I recall was in Houston. It's been a long while, but it seems like it was either 6 or 8 screens at I-45 & West Rd.

Oh, now I don't think I would like that at all... that just seems way too big!  This one is more like a little mom-n-pop run operation, I think... with really reasonable prices and mostly current run movies (except some of the kids movies, I guess...), and just the single screen.  It's the Winchester Drive-In, and it's the only one left in the metro area here.

I never went to that one in Houston, but it was within a couple miles of my in-laws' house, so I'd drive by it frequently when visiting the area. In the Little Rock area, we had a couple of twin-screen drive-ins, and a single-screen that tended to show the seedier movies. I'm sure there were others at one time, but they aren't coming to mind...

Another successful thread derail!

Why not put up a screen and show period-themed movies at the TRF campground? (How's that for getting it back on track?)

I want to have Karaoke night on Friday, before it gets so busy that there's no time for anything but running back and forth saying hello to everyone!  Believe me, though, Merlin... it gets so busy that it can be hard to find 2 solid hours to sit in one place and watch a movie!!!  Most of our campground time is spent either finding all the people we haven't seen for the last year, or tracking down those we haven't met yet... and we usually STILL end up missing more than a third, or only getting a few minutes with some!

Well, until after midnight, anyway, when it starts to calm down, and we sit or stand around the fire with the ones we're closest to, telling stories and catching up on everything we've all been up to since the last time we were all together... and I wouldn't trade that for anything.  :)

What?! Kung fu panda is awesome! I <3 that movie. :)

I'm really not a Jack Black fan... although the rest of the cast is pretty awesome.  I just tend to like humor that's a bit more subtle.  Bodily function jokes just don't do much for me.  I wasn't impressed with any of the trailers, either...

But X-Men: First Class and THOR should more than make up for it, and I can always play games on my phone while the first movie is playing.  :D

We'll see.  Even my daughter isn't looking forward to seeing it again, but it's hard to find a good spot if you get there too late, so we're going to hang out for the first movie so we can get up closer...

Thor was great, my son said X-man was good also.

In Thor there is a line that if you listen to it, it will either make you smile or out and out laugh.  Thor and his buddies are walking through town in full gear and some guy looks a another and said Something like " Is there a Ren Faire in town?"  I laughed out loud.

I'm not giving anything away,  just listen for it, it's quite well placed.

Have fun.  and enjoy the movies,
