Lady Renee, where did you find that parasol? It's lovely! And congratulations on your sewing! :)

Lady Kathleen made the garb, which I've posted before.  Steve and I were in the 10 finalists for the costume contest at Bristol on July 26th.  Here is the umbrella that I beaded with pearls and gold beads.  Also the basket was one that a coworker was going to throw away.  Steve spray painted it black, and I sewed 40 pearls around it.

Did you get that word?  ** sewed **    Don't fall down.  After 3 years on the forum, I finally sewed!  It isn't garb, but I actually picked up a needle and thread and did something!  My friend will be moving to Galena in November, and she sews everything, so I have my 3 year stash of Ren patterns, which have never been opened, and some material, so it may finally happen!

Thanks to a member of a different board, Lady Ann, for permission to use the photo.

Renee, I recognize that basic gown pattern and I LOVE what Lady Kathleen did with it. Is the skirt still one piece or did she alter it into two pieces?

Ebay and Amazon have lots of parasols! just look under lace parasol or lace umbrella

LunaBazaar also has a lot of nice paper parasols, some that are water resistant. This is my new one and I love it. It looks so noble!

I got the black parasol on Ebay.  It is a lace parasol.  I can't remember the vendor, got it last year.  It only cost $7, but most of the parasols from this seller go for between $25 - $30.  I guess nobody wanted black.

About the gown.  The original gown was from Ebay, Royal Coffers (never again would I purchase from them.  Never!).  Unfortunately, it never fit me correctly, even with Lady Kathleen trying to alter it first.  So she really had to start from scratch.  There are 2 skirts.  She used the material for the forepart but had to buy black broadcloth to make the skirt  and then bought black velvet for the overskirt.  So really, the only part remaining from the Royal Coffers gown is the material for the forepart.  She created a brand new bodice, using material from the Royal Coffers tunic that I had purchased for Steve.  Lady Kathleen ended up making him another doublet and new pants.  It never fit him either, so she cut it up for the front of the bodice.

Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone.  Someday in the future, maybe there will be a picture of something I made!   ;D

The deep Wine and Steel Blue Brocade ensemble for Julie is finished. Photos coming soon. I have to upload them from the camera. Julie is a Rochester client who will be working at tone of the shops at the MNRF this season. Her better half is on cast as HRH Prince James, the Duke of Buckingham. I will be doing a whole new Royal ensemble for him next year. Should be exciting!

Hey all, I'm working on the last sprint of my entirely new ensemble for MiRF this year. I will tell you all this much- it's big, black, and punk rock. Photos should be coming in the next few days... though the full ensemble won't be done for another week.

Here's my daughter's new fairy garb. My wife made the dress free-hand, sans pattern. I made the pattern pieces for the tutu. The wings we already had from a dress-up set, but my wife put new fabric on them, and me Chiane decorated them.
