Syrilla, jaw dropping pretty!!  Who are these for?

Loved the caped sleeves on the bodice and the very dainty detail work on the top.  Love the slash work on the doublet.  Looks like a very unusual color there as well, can't wait to see the finished project...

I really like the shoulder treatments on that bodice -- understated, but unique - and the beadline down the front is very pretty!

Does it close at front center under the line of beads, or in back?

The doublet is very cool!  Great job putting it together - is that a 'grown in' collar?  Very nice!  :)

Thanks everyone.  These are up for sale, look at the market on the forum.  As the job market is slow, I am doing what I know.  SEWING!

The doublet is part and pieced angle challenge.  Some one dared me to try to design using this red, quilted material, slashes, and that style of collar.  So, I did.  I reallize that I didn't have all of the buttons closed for the picture.  Ugh

Kate the bodice close down the back with grommets.

Sorry, it's under "Ye Old Classifieds"  :D

today was opening day at the PARF! huzzah :) it was much fun. and finallyy, without further ado, here is my garb (and my husbands) that I have been talking about in the "gallery of in progress projects":

you may recognize the other lady, as fellow RF.com member Alisoun :)

and here are our husbands! Fred (Alisouns husband) and Wesley-my husband

for my husbands silver doublet thingy, lol. i actually used a pattern. first time ever! and he likes it, ALOT :) I am very proud :)  I thnk the only thing I am going to change with my gown is to make the sleeves fitted. Because right now they are bell sleeves, and get in the freaking way.  And to add boning to the bodice, because it frumped even though I had a boned corset on underneath.

So happy sewing!

Lady Kathleen made the garb, which I've posted before.  Steve and I were in the 10 finalists for the costume contest at Bristol on July 26th.  Here is the umbrella that I beaded with pearls and gold beads.  Also the basket was one that a coworker was going to throw away.  Steve spray painted it black, and I sewed 40 pearls around it.

Did you get that word?  ** sewed **    Don't fall down.  After 3 years on the forum, I finally sewed!  It isn't garb, but I actually picked up a needle and thread and did something!  My friend will be moving to Galena in November, and she sews everything, so I have my 3 year stash of Ren patterns, which have never been opened, and some material, so it may finally happen!

Thanks to a member of a different board, Lady Ann, for permission to use the photo.

Here's my daughter's pirate coat, custom made by myself from Simplicity 3644.  It's a rose colored cotton fabric with a diamond woven pattern, and I've added black braid, and some really cool buttons.  We stumbled across them at the dollar store, $1 for a pack of ten silver antiqued plastic buttons with a skull and crossbones.  I made the coat a bit big so that she should be able to wear it for a while.  I figured if the sleeves got too short, I could add cuffs to it, as I still have plenty of fabric.

This is my second garment piece made from a pattern.

Cute, huh?
