Such wonderful work.  I really need to get off my butt and get back to sewing.  Although with school starting again, I should have lots more time during the day to get sewing done.

Alisoun, I really LOVE your pirate bodice! Great fit and super skirting/piccadils!

I like the sleeves on your gold gown as well. Keep working on the Pirate face - you're almost there.  ;D

Lady Renee's bloomers rock! Even if you can't show them off in the parade at Bristol, you should show them off any other time you have the opportunity.  :D

I finally have something to contribute! I made the whole outfit, including the hat.  It's lime green linen, lined with purple cotton and purple.  The chemise is made from fabric I bought almost 10 years ago that had been waiting for just the right project.  It's an odd sort of paisley with greens, purples, oranges, reds.   Nyteshayde said I looked like a Renaissance Rockstar.  I can live with that.  ;);D

Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Love the REnaissance Rockstar look!!!  OMG I bet the colors just EXPLODE in the light right at dusk!!!!  Do get a pic of THAT!!!!
I'm not fat, it's just that a skinny body couldn't hold ALL THIS PERSONALITY! ;)

Nice projects, everyone!

Here's my newest dress, an Eowyn-inspired gown. I used Simplicity 4940 as a base and drastically altered it.

Very lovely Medieval styled gown and rich detailing. Great job!!!

A simple T-Tunic styled Viking ensemble made for a local client in Brown and Grey Linen. The Undershirt was made out of a muslin so that when he wore his bracers, they would not chafe his arms. The Mongel styled pants are black linen, with the Celtic trim down the sides. There is a drawstring at the waist for easier adjustment. The client supplied the Celtic Trim.

Photo was taken at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival  on 30 August at the steps of the Bad Manor.  Good thing I suggested an undershirt. It was a bit on the cooler side yesterday at the festival.

I finished up my working class garb which has been hanging around in various incarnations over the years, it is all cotton as linen is just not in the cards right now. Kirtle was a $1 a yard fabric from way back when, burned as a natural fiber, Used about 5 yards in all. The bodice and sleeves are lined the skirt is just french seamed and guarded. The bodice is stiffened with two thin layers of buckram that I fused together. There is some buckling at the waist where I didn't cut it level but the apron hides most of it, no bones. The eyelets are hand sewn through the buckram which came about due to some miscaculations. They hold up very well but I had to use a leather needle to sew them, and shall not make that mistake again. The shift, coif and parlet are all just cotton muslin, the petticoat rust red quilting cotton and the apron is actually a scrap of a bed sheet that I sewed a few lines of "blackwork" on with one of the fancy looking sewing machine stitches.  I think in the end the total cost for the outfit was about $25 to $35 dollars in just materials and thread.

Um.  Wow.  Simply and utterly, WOW.

What a wonderful piece of work!  Everything fits just perfect and the colors are great!

That gown is one of those pieces that will not get many oooo's and ahhhh's from the general public who get dazzled by all the pretty and shiny court gowns, but people who know how difficult it is to pull off a gown like that - it will stop them in their tracks.

Good show!
