TAH DAH! 1 finished doublet! Altering the pattern (Simplicity 4059) as we went, no less! Not bad, if I do say so myself, for a pair that has 1 pair of bloomers as previous experience, and we're already plotting and planning what is next! :)

Thank you to all of you for your help. This forum, and this particular section of the forum, is full of WONDERFUL people! :)

I love the claspy things! Also, congrats on your first doublet!
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

Lovely work.  I love that fabric you used for the top half of the doublet.

@ Lady Kett: The doublet looks wonderful and it pieces together wonderfully with his kilt.  :)

Here is my "surprise" outfit I made for CORF last weekend.  There are a few things I plan to change before MN but overall I liked the look.
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Is that another remnant coat I see!? :o ;D

Marietta, that coat is gorgeous!

Such lovely work everyone!  :) With inspiration like this, I may hold still long enough to finish something yet!

I'm just in awe of all of you... and rather envious of all this talent, skill and determination, as well!  Beautiful work, ladies and gentlemen!

I actually didn't use a pattern.  This was supposed to be the mock up/pattern for the one I meant to sew in silk.  I liked how this one came out so much that I didn't make the other one yet.  LOL
And it's a cheater-if you will.  The bodice front is part of the coat.  It's all sewn together as one piece (separate sleeves) to save on the layers.  The front of the jacket is stitched to the bodice just enough to maintain the feminine silouette.  I was really pleased how this came together!
