TAH DAH! 1 finished doublet! Altering the pattern (Simplicity 4059) as we went, no less! Not bad, if I do say so myself, for a pair that has 1 pair of bloomers as previous experience, and we're already plotting and planning what is next!

I actually didn't use a pattern.  This was supposed to be the mock up/pattern for the one I meant to sew in silk.  I liked how this one came out so much that I didn't make the other one yet.  LOL
And it's a cheater-if you will.  The bodice front is part of the coat.  It's all sewn together as one piece (separate sleeves) to save on the layers.  The front of the jacket is stitched to the bodice just enough to maintain the feminine silouette.  I was really pleased how this came together!
