Valencia

I am declaring the 1880 Victorian done for the time being. I eventually want to add a short ruffled black trim to the bottom of the overskirt, but that's on hold until I figure out how to use my shiny new ruffler, lol.... and now I'm not sure this dress even needs it. So we'll see. :)

]Well done Valencia!!!

I finished cutting out the first of 3 Victorian ensembles for a play that I am doing the costuming for. The Bell shaped skirt pattern was so big, the fabric was not wide enough. So I drew an a-line skirt onto plaid Taffeta, made marks for darts instead. Should look nice regardless.

Thank you!!! :) I still love the color, which is saying a lot after the hours spent looking at it, lol.... I'm thinking I'm going to make a ball gown bodice in black with the amethyst trim to go with this, and a black butterfly train... I love the amethyst, but the black really makes it pop.

Valencia, the entire ensemble is beautiful and the lines on that jacket are just wonderful.

Nice lines Valencia!  Lovely fit!
I especially like your little furry supervisor in the second photo  ;)

Valencia, it's certainly beautiful just the way it is, but a black trim along the edge of the overskirt would look really nice I think.

LOL!! He's actually a hairless dog, the only real hair he has is on his head, that's why he's in jammies. He's my little bald supervisor, lol :)  He's really funny - whenever I take pictures of my outfits, on the dressmaker form or on me, he tries to photobomb my pics. I have a pic of just the petticoat, and it looks like he's heeling to the dummy, lol....

Anna Iram, I picked up thick black ribbon yesterday afternoon, I think I AM going to add it - I agree with you, I think it will look better with it.  So thank you for the push. :)

Valencia

This is the picture of the petticoat that goes under the Victorian, and the naked dog. I'd taken his jammies off to get him to go sunbathe, because he turns a weird liver grey color in the winter. He's a gorgeous dark chocolate color with his suntan. But he wanted to hang out with the dresses and take pictures, lol :)

Looks like he likes to get in on the sewing/pics as much as Cornflake!   ;D

I completed my Banyan yesterday:

The brocade is silk and metallic thread, the lining is polycotton sheeting.  It should be wide enough to go over my pocket hoops for going down to breakfast!

That banyan rocks my socks! It would be so much easier to get up in the morning if I could start the day in such an outfit...  ;D

I've made garters for my Italian dresses. And no, I do not plan to use them with pajama and slippers in the future... There's more info on them here, if anyone wants more backgroun info: http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/228251.html

They are very wicked.  I may have to steal this idea in the future.
