Hello everyone. *waves to the crowd* It's been a while.

First I would like to say how wonderful everyones projects look. WOW people. Nice.

I have been some what busy so I would like to show you two things I have worked on.

The first a mundane shirt.

and one out of 4 doublets I am making. This one could be called finished with out the sleeves

Love the ruffs. Want to see them on somebody. How did you make them?

Vince, that doublet looks terrific--I remember you posting when you bought that fabric, and it's gone to great use!! Well done!

amy

Thank you!   They are double box pleats done by hand in organza with a light monofiliment line in the edge for stability.  Then I just played with scrap lace, and used blanket stitch edging for the black.   The black/white ribbon is printed then I used silver bugle beads and hematite to edge the ruffle.   I think I will list them to sell on the other board.

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

Great work! The Doublet looks fantastic as do the ruffs!

Silk Organza makes for lovely ruffs. I see the Double Stacked Box Pleat method used.

I am in awe of all the extremely wonderful talent illustrated through this thread!  I can only hope to someday be a fraction of the seamstress a lot of you are!

Ooh, pretty stuff from both of you! Amy, I especially love that ruff in the back right corner. :)

DragonWing

Thanks everyone.

There will be more to come soon.

Dragonwing we need to put our heads together and make a ruff to go with that smashing doublet!  You have the best eye for finishing touches and jewelry.   Love the closures.

If I can get my act together, I will list them no the buy/sell forum I guess.  I don't think I need 4 ruffs this year!

Amy those ruffs are gorgeous!!!!!  I'm with everyone, I especially like that black & white one but also the lace trimmed one in the lower left.  They're all just perfect, well done!

Anna Iram

Amy, those are lovely. You should definitly put them in the for sell threads. Mayhaps, too,  you might think about adding the option of a set of matching cuffs?

Dragonwing, always fun to see your creations. I've noticed you have a shoe theme going on. Can't believe you found fabric to match for your shirt. Nice. :)

DonaCatalina

I'm behind on this thread!

Dragonwing, your new work looks great and very elegant.
Amy, I would definitely consider buying some of those ruffs.  ;)

Thanks ladies. Always nice to get your approval on the things I make. It just feels good to know people like it.

Amy those ruffs would look smashing with the doublets. As for the trim work, that's Brent's doing, the one wearing it. The closers on the front, believe it or not, are the main pieces of three necklaces from Clair's. There is a forth on the back of the neckline. We used black hook and eye to hold the front and those are just decorative.

Anna Iram, yes we have a shoe theme going. If you visited our apt. you would find all kinds of them. Some Brent made and he is painting the bedroom floor with them.

Like I said in my last post, there is more to come. I am in the final stages of my black and red doublet.
"The Renn Wizard"  and two brown taffeta doublets that Brent is beading.

I forgot to mention I also made the tights he is wearing.
