LadyStitch

I'm not sure if I ever posted Fuzzlet's little fabric Fairy outfit from last year.  I am going to make her a new one this year.  She was so cute in it.

It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Way too cute Lady Fae and Stitch!!!  :)  :)

Hello everyone! heres a smattering of my favorite stuff.. :)

This is my recently completed court ensemble.... i fell in love, and decided court gear is the way to go for me! (until it gets too hot)

I'll have this one done by this weekend for SWFF! So excited. This is for day, the gold and black is my night/court outfit.

This is a tree i made of PVC pipe, wood, a bag of old faux flowers, and spandex. and some spray paint. :) The mouth is a domed trash can lid, and opens and closes from inside. (i used it for a kids halloween party and threw candy from his mouth. hehe There is also a harness inside, so it can be worn so you can walk around in it. its about 10 feet tall with his hairs included.

This was when i was marie antoinete for halloween- haha the dress is 10 ft wide, also made of PVC pipe for stability. Speakers inside played harpsichord music while i walked. 2 marie wigs were combined with the ship inbetween, and a treasure chest on the back. After the event I installed the domed supports so the fabric didn't sink into the dress, where it should have been domed! That was the saddest part of the night. haha

Hope you guys enjoy. :D always love feedback!

Wow!  How much did the Marie A outfit weigh, including the wigs?

the wig was only about 4 pounds- i stuffed them with cotton batting, and the ship is about a foot long, but made of balsa wood (or something very light)  so its light and VERY well  balanced (by accident)... no straps, and i never have trouble keeping it on.... the dress is a different story. haha with speakers it was 92 lbs... theres a harness under the "bodice"... i didn't make the bodice with boning or even lining, as it needed to be able to fit over the straps etc, and still be moveable.
:D
I'm thinking of adding some pirate flair for the pirate weekend of TRF- try to win me a contest!

Wow! Oswyn, the beading on your court ensemble is incredible. I wish I had the patience and time to do that. The colors are very flattering too. Love it!

Oswyn, I would LOVE to hear more about how you constructed your Marie Antoinette! Some friends and I are looking at doing a similar design for DragonCon this year. Do you have a project diary or more pictures or something you could share?

Meagan

Oswyn, your stuff is fantastic. The details are incredible.

Oswyn Fenecote

I do not have a construction diary of it, I'll type one up today. I have some pictures of the frame (before and after the oh so important domes) and I'll post it here later today? or somewhere else if it belongs elsewhere. <--(Suggestions on that?) normally, i would not share these pics, as I am lookin toh-up in them, but for the sake of artistic progress i will post em for ya.  ;D I've neevr done a project diary - I'm gonna start writing now- feel free to inbox/pm/chat  me if you have any suggestions!

Hah, I've never done a dress diary either, not really. But I would love to see any pictures of construction you have, and hear any details about how you did it!

Oh... my goodness!  Sooooo much incredible work in here lately!  I get distracted by the mundane world and this place just explodes with beautiful craftiness!!!

Truly, everyone... well done!  I am in awe of the talent here... and the loveliness of even the simplest pieces just takes my breath away!

I'm seriously loving that wig.
Will you be wearing the whole getup for the pirate fest, or keeping the wonderful wig and pairing it with a frock coat and a lot of lace?  I could see that outfit with white face and beauty patches.  The pirate version of Uber Fop. ;D

Oswyn Fenecote

OMG Rowen! thats an amazing idea! imay have to have that for day 2... :D i was planning on taking the dress out for at least one day, provided i can rig a stool in there (which i think i can). the one down side is having no place big enough to sit. my idea is to attach the stool inside, hanging from the frame, just reach in and plop the stool down... we shall see. hahaha
