I am cranking out items for the Robin Hood show so fast I havent' had time to take pictures, but I will soon as they are together.
Completed:
- A Harlequin. mistral's outfit with chamise, tights, hat and borrowed bodice.
- A poor Knight's tabard with appliqued Royalcoat of arms. (It is suppose to look a bit bad because he is suppose to be getting the cast off's)
- A mysterious man's archer hood
- King Richard's appliqued royal coat of arms tabbard on scarlet velveteen.

Lord willing and creek don't rise I hope to add a royal golden brocade 'wedding' doublet with sleeves by midnight tonight, and then two more dresses before I go in for surgery on Thursday.  Then I have 1 more doublet outfit with pumpkin pants, and 2 ladies princess line gowns.

Like I said, soon as I can I'll post pictures.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Wickedvox

Just had surgery myself--two in fact. I hope you recover quickly! Get lots of rest!

It's not the best picture of me or my Mom by a long shot but you can see both dresses I made for our 18th C dinner.

Look at you guys!!!  Isabella, you should always, always, always wear red. It is such a smashing color on you.

And the ruffles on your mum's gown are just terrific.

I'm so glad I found this blog! you all make such beautiful clothing/costumes!
I am truly in awe of the amount of talent, and I am honoured to be a member of your ranks! I can't wait to see some of this in person!

Gem, thank you!   I do have a few red gowns but I do need a few more.  I have some red wool and red striped silk in the fabric stash...hmmm...

Mom's ruffles were a LOT of fun to play with when I was putting them on the dress.  With dupioni, cut out ribbons so the slubs make "stripes" in the silk (ie, go vertical and not horizontal).  It makes the gathers look awesome and are much easier.

Dona, thank you!

My old Profile started working again, though I'm still having problems getting pictures up over here.....
Just finished a square necked smock in linen using the MA pattern, and made it hip length to save material.
Love how this pattern has tapered sleeves so they fit inside the paned sleeves without bulk.    More of these will be in the works in the future!
I was able to find ruffle trim in white grosgrain, and sewed that to the cuffs.  It looks enough like a true ruff to pass, so I don't have to make wrist ruffs.  :)

The ruffle is much deeper than shown.

So many pretty things! I've just caught up on several pages of posts since my last visit. I haven't made anything new for myself in almost a year. Did I share my burgundy and gold Florentine gown and my Ottoman Turkish garb?

I've finally found a style of 16th century garb for hubby. He won't wear Florentine or Elizabethan court garb and, frankly, I don't think I have the skills to fit him properly. His new garb for Val Day was a Polish/Hungarian Zupan, But, um, yeah...I just discovered that I don't have any pics of the completed garment. I guess I have to talk him into modeling it in the morning! lol

Not ren fair at all really...  This kit is for the Profound Decisions Empire game.  My Nation is Marches.  Marcher folk are practical, down-to-earth types, not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in when there's work to do.

I'm awaiting a belt and pouch for carrying my money in and hooking my tankard to.  The belt is long, tooled leather with bronze ring buckle and tip.

Never had enough courage to post in this section before But I am rather proud of this creation.
Made from Simplicity #3782, the lace on the cuffs I dyed with tea and added the shoulder treatments.
I have since changed out the clasps and added additional ones down the front.

Very very nice..

I'm looking to have a garb made with Ann Bolyn (Tudor) sleeves..
I do like that folded collar

Lovely
I'm looking for a Tudor gown high folded collar with rolled Anne Bolyn sleeves

Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, Sister to Elizabeth.

Is this what you are asking about, Lady Catharine? The High Collar here is a Seperate Partlet that fits over the Bodice of a Tudor Styled Gown.

Oh, Kate, I just ADORE this! Is it green wool and brown linen? That's exactly the inspiration I need for my mud garb! (I'm planning a Queen's Servants-style transitional kirtle, and have lots of brown and green in my stash.) Yummy!

And you're also making me think my blue medieval gown needs an overgown....
