It's not Renn, but I thought some people might still like it.  This is my latest handsewn Regency Era apron front dress.  The fabric is a lovely very lightweight checkered blue and white wool.   The lining is muslin - which is period for the early 1800's- and I used cotton thread.  The entire dress is handsewn.  I * think* it took a total of 14 hours this time but I'm not really sure since I didn't sit down & sew it all at once.   I know the bodice went quick - 2 hours- and the sleeves were a bit of a pain but all and all, it ended up coming together with only three or four days of real work on it.

Now, on to the 1920's!

Wow! All hand sewn? Impressive! I wish I had the patience to do that.

Thank you all!  The hints and advice I have gotten from you all over the last year has been invaluable.  The rest was trial and error!  I can say that at least I can find my way around an MA pattern now.  ;D

The sleeves took the least amount of time (one day) and I will be making more in the future  to change up the 'look' of the outfit.
The faux poofs on the slashes worked very well, and the partlet and chemise are linen.
My black Duponi forepart was a left over strip from Davids' cloak lining, beaded and with a velveteen guard sewn on the hem.
My gold forepart now has a trim strip to match my sleeves, and has been beaded with jet(I will wear that this weekend.)
The next project will probably just be a different bodice for this.   I have plenty of leftovers and I want to try a more traditional version.

Results on the hair-ties as sleeve ties test:
I used the stretchy hair ties/button trick on the sleeves and they worked great.  After 8 hours-No slipping off the buttons, as long as the ties are wrapped around the button shank at least twice.  We figured that out before we left the house with no mishaps at all later on.
When I changed out the fin sleeve caps for shoulder rolls on my bodice; I also removed all the fussy rings I had sewn into the arm holes and replaced them with  heavy web grommet tape.  That helped distribute the stress on the tie points (which kept tearing the rings off), and now I can use stretchy ties or the conventional laces/aglets with the tape, and the aglets fit through the grommets just fine.

In my picture-My paned sleeves are held on with the hair ties, and David's curved sleeves are tied on.
I have another set of velvet curved sleeves like Davids's for my bodice, that tie on.
