Thank you!

DonaCatalina, thank you for the pattern info. Googling now...

I just wanted to say WOW! lots of great looking garb here. I'm definitely inspired... and a bit intimidated. I been lurking around and I want to thank you for all the great info and sharing your works of art.

I made this cloak for my Mom for Mom's Day but only now got the pictures uploaded.   :)

I knew she loved it when showed off the back like that.  I didn't even have to tell her to hold out the sides.  The cloak is a lovely bluish grey wool, inner lined in cotton flannel, with blue dead dino flannel backed satin.  Mom wanted a warm cloak, lined in satin, for the Renn Faire.  I did the hood in a more 18th Century style since I wanted something she could wear to 18th C events too without looking out of place.

very nice. I do like the color combination also.

Loving that cloak color and cut!
Is it good in the rain?

Lovely cloak!

Oswyn, I met you at Scarby on Saturday.  I was the one who was drooling over your garb and pawing at your sleeve to see how it was made. :)  Absolutely stunning ensemble!

Rowen, yes!   It's awesome in a light rain.  The wool is very helpful and will absorb up to 25% of it's weight in water without feeling "wet".   Plus, with the lining, it keeps you warm.  :-)

Here is the mint and Pink garb I finsihed a few weeks ago. I hate the view, and the shadows, she was sitting when she took it. But, it's the best I can do for now. :)

I finally got to see this in person, though from about 40 feet away. If you ever need help with men's garb, go to Oswyn. He definitely has the doublet, jerkin and slops down pat.

Very handsome doublets!  And a rather nice cloak!  :)

Thanks Kate!

Dress U 031 par Isabella (Flickr Expat), on ipernity

I wore this to Dress U for the Court Dinner.  You might recognize the dress a bit - it's based on the one from the movie Ever After.   ;)

Making this dress was interesting  I made it movie accurate rather than H/A.   This meant that the dress is way more complicated than it should be (it's one dress rather than two separate pieces).  I'm not completely pleased with the bodice (it needs to be shortened and the straps need to be shortened as well) but it came out okay.

I remember my mom and I using that pattern (the one Simplicity put out for the movie) back in middle school for a friend. Definitely more complicated than it needed to be :/ But you look VERY pretty in it! Like Dougray Scott is about to come sweep you off your feet!

I didn't use a pattern - well, I did, but it was one I created.  It wasn't a Simplicity pattern.   ;)

I figured you didn't ;) It looks much nicer than the one Simplicity came up with. It was after that one that I went rogue and started making my own patterns. I did love that movie though, HA or not those costumes were beautiful.

Thanks!   And yes, I still love the costuming from that movie for their beauty.  It's not H/A but the movie isn't meant to be H/A - it's meant to show a plausible explanation of the Cinderella story.  It's a mix of history and of fantasy, balanced well and the costuming shows that.  I need to rework my Steampunk Just Breathe gown and finish the wings.

GORGEOUS!!! Remember when I said you should always, always wear red? Ok, red OR butter yellow! You look spectacular.

(And you've convinced me that I was right to keep hoarding my butter yellow damask for the Italian gown I bought it for, and not cannibalize it for other projects. :D)
