Maithu Ruadh

And over the weekend, I made this English Civil War Montero cap from scraps of cloth from the soldier's coat I made earlier.

Wonderful stuff Maithu!

Sister in Law par Isabella, on ipernity

Not the best picture, but my sister in law in her Norse garb.   The apron is out of linen, handsewn with green wool thread.  The apron dress is wool, machine sewn because I just didn't have the time.  The undertunic is wool as well - and plaid!

We have pants!
I decided to make some new pants for my husband back in December as an alternate to the green pants he already has.

I finished my pirate coat.  This weekend was opening of Sherwood Forest Faire and it was pretty cool so the lined sleeves are on .  I added the cap sleeves and can detach the sleeves in warmer weather.  Under that is a leather underbust vest (first time working with leather).  The simple pants and chemise I made as well.  This is my first time wearing all garb I made myself.

Well done, Crimson!

...now we need some close-ups so we can admire better...

Oh, very nice DonaC!  Both the pants AND the codpiece...  :D

And Crimson, I do really like your new coat!  Molly, if you click on the photo it will take you to the MUCH larger version, so you can see a great deal more detail!

Ooooh... that fabric is LUSH!  I'm not usually a huge fan of most pinks, but I really do like that sort of dusty/muted posy pink, and the colors of the embroidery are so complimentary!  Very understated and elegant.  I would love to see it in direct sunlight one of these days, as well as a closer look at the lining.  Brown is my favorite things to pair with pale pink...  Wonderful work!

Finally Finished in July haven't had time to get on the computer to post photo. Only need to make a new partlet mine is to narrow around the neck I can't close it if I wanted to. I plan to make detachable sleeves next. This is the fabric I plan to use.

Squee! Lady L, you finished!! I stumbled across your WIP pix a couple of months ago--how fun to see the finished gown at last! It turned out beautifully. That pale green velvet is just luxurious!

Laura, I would LOVE to learn more about that gorgeous jacket!

Lady L-I love that velvet! the trim is perfect for it.
Where did you find the fabric for the sleeves?  I've been looking for something like that for eons....

Silvertah:  the pink embroidery is very fresh and feminine.

Second four panel hat (second ever project), first non-straight line stitching of any sort. :)  Wool outer, linen liner, all hand stitched.  Going for a rustic, homemade norse look.

There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly West. Some courage and some wisdom, blended in measure. If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. - J.R.R. Tolkien
