What pattern is this?
Would like to possibly attempt one!  :)

I used the Margo Anderson bodice pattern www.margospatterns.com but shortened it to just above my waist then just pleated panels of fabric for the skirt. The first time I used the pattern it took some fiddling to get the right fit but now that I know my shoulders and waist are 3 sizes apart I don't have a problem! LOL And there is a Margo's patterns yahoo group to answer your questions if you get stuck.

Element of Air

I started Chris's New Noble Garb yesterday and finished it this morning. It took 12 hours total from start to finish.

This is the finished piece with him wearing mundanes underneath. ^_^
He is going to be wearing it this weekend to Scarby.

Thanks so much!

Syrilla, Yeah from starting to open the patterns and cutting everything and getting it all done, took just about form 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for two days. But that is with a few breaks for making some chocolate pudding. ^_^

Sealion, Thank you so much! This is the first project I have done. Well I made a duplicate of a skirt I wear at TRF but in White and I also made a White copy of Chris's Main leather ridding coat. But this is the first that I worked with a pattern and used interfacing and such. I have been able to sew on my mothers Viking Machine since I was 3 years old. That is what I use now, she got a Bernina Embroidery Machine and gave me the big old red Viking.

The fabric also has a grain to it that I made to all go down, so if you pet him it all moves with the way you move your hand. ^_^ I am so excited. I am also thinking about adding some embroidery to it as well.

I am so excited about this!

My gown for this year.  It was remade from last years gown, which was remade from my wedding dress.  The only thing that is new is the pearls and the underskirt material.  And the parts for the french farthingale.

old version

*jaw drops*

That is gorgeous!  You look like you stepped out of a painting.  Do you have a dress diary for it?  I would LOVE to see how it was made,

Good job, Element of Air!

By chance is that the Simplicity Lord of the Rings-like pattern for Boromir?  I actually have that pattern that I got for the Legoas pattern, but I had never payed much attention to that particular pattern.  I have been trying to figure out a pattern like that on my own.

Yeah it is pattern Simplicity pattern 4942. And Chris picked it out about two years ago for his noble garb and I have never been able to find the right fabric till now AND it was all half off when I got everything. His new garb cost no more than 50 dollars.

Well done Element of Air. That is a  very versatile pattern.

My apprentice used that same pattern for her new Princess Leia Rebel gown, with a few tweaks of the pattern. Turned out really nice.

Tim!!  Here is the Legolas I did in 2004-2005 by scratch. I drafted a pattern for the over tunic and  Undertunic by using the Fantasy Fashions Doublet pattern as a guide.

The inspiration..

Overtunic and Undertunic. I drew out the Elvin design then embroidered them.

and

The Lothlorian Quiver I had Suzanne Daley make me. The arrows i fashioned myself.

The rest of the ensemble was done with leather, woodburing, then filling in.

My apprentice, Elizabeth, wearing Legolas before competition in 2005 at CONVergence.
