Thank you so much for the compliments!  ;D

Lady Rebecca, not quite sure what you are asking? I made a leaf template out of paper in two sizes. Cut out the leaves from a polyester type of fabric, which doesn't ravel very much. Then, layer upon layer of acrylic paint, blending the edges and adding the details on top. I attached wonder under to the back of the leaves, arranged and pinned them where I wanted them. Then, I took brown cord for the vines and glued that a bit with white glue, holding them in place with pins until the glue dried. Next step was to iron the leaves down. Then, I zig zag stitched over the vines. Then I appliqued the leaves over the vines. Sewed the beads on one at a time, then sewed the lining on, encasing the button loops inbetween.

I still need to redo the antlers he wears on his head, as the headband cracked last year. The antlers are fine... bought some new headbands at walmart to attach them to. ;D

Wow, Lady L, that sounds like quite a process! Definitely looks worth it, though!

Thank you.  The hats just finish things off, and while we are no longer a hat-wearing society, they wore hats all the time, indoors and out, back in Henry's day, so I thought hats would help the mood.

Lady Catherine

I gave a couple of pieces O finished for the first weekend of KHRF,

The first is a Surcoat and for my friend who was french, she is in Black and blue on the left of the pic.

Thank you! I listed it on the buy, sell, and trade section of this forum, along with the w-bay section of the international wenches guild forum. I'm trying to stay away from ebay, I've had too many people there tell me that anything above $40 for a complete outfit is a ripoff.

I went to the Ren Faire in Atlanta a couple weeks ago, and my family is wanting me to make outfits for next year, which I'm excited about doing.  I've been dressmaking for years and have fair millinary skills.  I wanted to thank all of you for being my inspiration!  I have been on many artisan sites over the years, and I am so impressed with how freely you share information.  There's much altruism here.  I haven't made anything yet, but I'm probably going to start with my 9-year-old's Robin Hood costume, which I guess may not be exactly historically accurate, but I think will be a good start.

Again, thanks for all the wonderful inspiration!

That sounds like an excellent place to start.
