ok..........I need help!   ::)
The Jo-Ann store near me, Canadaguia NY, is going on a huge move...across the road....lol!  :D
Anyway, they are selling BOLTS of fabric at 75% off!  :o OMG! I walked out with $250.00 worth of fabric for $63.00 and that didn't include the notions that were just pennies!
I am going to make drapes and such, but good grief...if anyone is close you should go there!
;D

How DARE you give us this information!!!!  AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So many people that just aren't close enough to take advantage, me being one of them! ;D

I found 5 yards of a really pretty gold brocade with a sqare pattern little red dots on the corners of the squares for 5 bucks at the second hand store!

Wickedvox

Don't you love second hand stores? I found 18 feet of this gold/green shimmery material (not sure what it was originally!) for 7 and some change at the one by me. It's not very wide, maybe 24" but ther's a lot of it! Going to Habermann fabrics for my birthday on Saturday *squee!*

This past weekend I had to go to thrift stores with the PP to find specific items he needed for props for the show he is working on.  While he did that I kept an eye out for patterns, and good fabric deals.  Walked away for 25 cents 4 OOP ren patterns with all their pieces so I say it was a good day.
I did walk away from one deal, that if I had the room, and reason I would  have gotten it.  It was 50 yards of high quality black, tan, or grey twill, for only $10. It was on a large tube already, never used.  They just took the plastic cover off of it.  If I had a reason for it, I would have got it, but what would I do with THAT MUCH black twill?
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Cofeeguru

Well. . .it's not fabric, but I got a Singer 14u46 serger for $50 at the thrift store, because they thought it was just another sewing machine.  In beautiful condition, oiled, cleaned, etc.  *happy dance*

Can I get a "Huzzah!" Check out today's find from the JoAnn red tag bin!

Pinked faux suede!! Can you believe it?!

I took one look at it and immediately thought of these pinked leather sleeves from The Tudor Tailor:

Here's a closeup of the pinking pattern:

(It's wound on the bolt here, so you're seeing the layer of fabric behind the pinked holes.)

I have absolutely no plans to make something pinked--but if I want to, I now have FOUR YARDS of this stuff to do it with.  ;D And I got the lot for $14. Huzzah!!

...But I do have to wonder, what exactly is the *mundane* application of this fabric supposed to be? What would Normal People make with this?

AuntieGiggles fabric score today- not sure what her totals were but everything was 70% off.
