Thanks for the feedback!  I love creating beautiful things and it's fun to share.  I hope I'm not posting too much.  I really enjoy looking at everyone else's stuff.  It's so much fun to share with people who truly understand what work goes into creating beautiful garb.

Here are two leather pieces.  The purple is custom dyed.  The other one is not the best view but the only one I have.  It has a built in corset that laces and the bodice clasps over it.  It's really comfy to wear and fun when I am working tilt.

Here are a few fantasy costumes I've done.  The fairy was photographed by my friend Kevin who is also on the boards. The bird costume was made for a Harry Potter event but Alise begged to wear it to festival on Halloween even though it's not really period LOL.

A back view of the teal and gold from earlier and another gown I did for one of our princesses.  Also pics of another of my court gowns I also wear it when I play queen for some of our promotions.

pics of my kids in costumes.  thanks to IFL photo for the pirate pics.

and last (I promise) a sultans costume I did.  he had about 6 interchangable pieces and we're adding on a peacock coat and vest this year.  I wont post all of the pieces.  I think I've posted enough.

Oh and all the pics were used with permission.

Don't make those the last pix, Lady H!  We want more!   ;D ;D ;D

Heading for Tudor Boy's Robe this week, (and some Regency gown&hattage for a customer).

Thanks for the kind words.  Kate, I doubt they'll be the last ever LOL.  I did post a lot yesterday though.  It is just so cool that there is a place full of like minded people who understand my passion for making beautiful historic clothing!

One of the best things about this forum is that there is no side to it: ALL levels of skill are appreciated for what they are, and the work put in to the pieces, from the simplest of items and the first stumblings towards basic sewing skills to the most massive and complex adventures in costuming and skill levels we mere mortals can only dream of, and we help each other.

One of my great joys is sharing the knowledge and experiences gained over 47 or so sewing years, and discovering I still have lovely things to learn.

Neat. What kind of fabric did you use for the teal & gold gown?

ladyharrogate

the teal (actually it was emerald but the picture effected the color some) and gold is a dupioni silk.  I would not recommend it if you are on cast and getting a lot of wear on your dresses because it is a more delicate fabric but for someone who wears their dresses on occasion or doesn't have to play as hard in them as I do with the kids it makes a beautiful gown.  The fabric does shrink a lot and I had to press my skirts every time I washed them.  Most of the time I use cotton velvets and a lot of upholstery materials. If you have any questions on the stuff feel free to drop me a message.

Manwariel

Ah, okay. It's very pretty! What fabric did you use for the riding coat?

ladyharrogate

the riding dress is a gold woven upholstery, almost feels like a heavy version of a taffeta.  there is a tone on tone 1/8 pinstripe with an embroidered diamond and dot pattern to it.  the sleeve puffs and the corset are a sage green cotton velvet.  I use a lot of upholstery fabrics and if you're ever in NC I can hook you up with a couple of great places for getting fabrics!

Oh, I was referring to what the lady jouster is wearing :)

I'd like to go to the CRF someday. I'll ask you about the fabric stores if I ever make it up there :)

ladyharrogate

LOL, that's leather!  And it's not really a lady jouster, just me selling pennants for the jousters in Georgia last month.  CRF is my home faire I direct the childrens troupe there.

I mean the bright green one from your first post. I should have clarified; sorry.

I was at GARF that day  :D

ladyharrogate

Now I know who you are LOL!  I just recognized you from the pic, I think I'm working to hard!  That is made out of a cotton duct twill.  It holds up better than most things with the horses and is really breathable.
