Your pic came out quite small Harlas so I can't make out what is supposed to happening in it, however Bristol is one of my favorite faires so thanks for sharing my friend.

That was an amazing shot. I hope he didn't get burned in the process though.

Very nice pics thanks for sharing. Question, what is Alex holding in his hands? It looks to be a hand gonne/musket/arquebus of some sort with a wheel lock or is it a matchlock. Interesting piece none the less, he also has quite a cool mug there.  Any info on those pieces would be much appreciated. Don't worry not trying to steal garb ideas, already have so much already and my character is built up already. Young people and myself, I'm 27 though, we seem to love to have accessories no matter how difficult it may be to carry them through faire. I find they add story to the character I'm portraying that day. And I'm approached quite often by people to ask why or how some pieces were carried.

What you see is my nephew's crossbow. His favorite weapon of choice. Walking 'round the faire is like bringing your own assault weapon. Definitely a favorite of the crowds, but he doesn't care for the weight after an hour or so. Here's a better photo from the children's garb contest with the other finalist....

This was one of my favorite photos too....

The crossbow is real, not sure of the draw weight but we did fire one of the armor piercing arrows it came with through a old pickups door out in one of the fields. I got it off of eBay (actually I STOLE it off of eBay) for only $40 plus shipping. I had been trying to have one made for around $450. I don't think the seller knew how much they really cost.

As for the tankard. I'm too ashamed to post what I really paid for it (I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, so it didn't matter). I found it on an antiquities auction out of Sweden and had it shipped over and had it restored for him to drink out of. It is his most expensive prop. It's hand stamped brass made sometime between 1820-40. There are some better photos already posted...

Nice crossbow.  It does look like quite a chunk of wood and metal for him to haul around all day.

And, I really like the color of that young lady's hair.   ;D
