For those that don't know me personally I do quite a bit of fishing.  First thing in the mornings you can usually find me at the docks catching bluegills which I use as bait to catch larger fish.  Just about every morning I'm visited by this female raccoon.  I always feed her a few fish to keep her occupied mainly to keep her from getting into my boat which she has attempted in the past.  This day I managed to load her up and take a few pictures of her in the process. BTW, the lakes name is "Raccoon Lake" .. seriously  ;)

Mission Accomplished! Fully stuffed and laying down on my tie down rope on starboard side after eating 6 large bluegills and a gizzard shad.

Reminds me of this little guy.

A few years ago I was working a contract and had to go to Cody, Wyoming for a week. The receptionist at the Western Area Power Authority had a pet raccoon named Ozzy. In Wyoming it's fully legal to own one with out a license. His mother had been killed along with 2 siblings. the other 3 were adopted by people. he was cute as all can be but boy was she ever going to have her hands full in a few months.

Lady Renee looking absolutely stunning!   We here are enjoying the raccoon pic's as well.  By chance, do you still have your little coon Tammy?
VENI, VIDI, VELCRO! Spelling and grammatical errors are beyond my control, it's the way I'm wired.

Tammy

I do. I've had her a year this past June 3rd. She is amazingly smart.

Phelyp, Lord Maydestone...
They aren't considered great pets...they are better off in the wild, as most people can't take their mischievousness and destructiveness. She can tear up a tennis ball quicker then my dad's dog (a bull mastiff) can! My lil' girl is a rescue, but for several reasons she isn't releasable, and in my state I had to undergo training and lots of redtape to have her legally.
Having a raccoon is like having a toddler that can reach any spot in the house...and is a thousand times more destructive. Don't get me wrong...she's the light of my life. I'm not sure what I'd do without her now.

And...since this is a photo thread...here's Dixie the night I brought her home...

Here she is hanging out with one of her aunts...she's about a month and a half here...

She's about 2 months here...

And here's another of her at her birthday party...

I hope no one minds all the photos...I don't get to show her off too often.  ;D

Back in the 1940's & 1950's, my Grand-Dad was a Game & Fish Officer in south-central Arkansas.  It was before my time, but my Mom and her brothers have told me about the various "pets" they had on the farm, besides the regular dogs, cats, horses, cows, etc.  At different times they had a Deer, a Raccoon, a Bobcat, and a Gray Squirrel.

The Raccoon was a bit mischievous during the rides with my Grand-Dad when he was out patrolling in his Jeep.  It would get on the back of the seat, and start messing around with his hat and glasses ... and he would make it stop.  Then it would get in the front floor-board and reach up and turn the engine Off.  When my Grand-Dad would get "mad" about that, the Raccoon would climb around the windshield and lean back against it with the wind blowing over it (this was on gravel roads out in the country).  Wish I had pictures of that to post.   8)

EDIT: And the Raccoon used to annoy the cats.  It would find one sitting in the Sun on the porch, and slip up behind the cat and give it a hug.   :D  Apparently, the cats would freak out!  :o
