I tried the no rinse shampoo, made it smell good, but look greasy... me no likey!!!  I tried it at home so I did not have to go in public.

We also have a shower, but sometimes it is just too darned cold.  The swash clothes I put the package under my shirt to warm up before using them, so it is not such a shock to the body.

Hey, it's the cold shock that A- helps me wake up in the am, and B- keeps me goin all day afterwards.....

Thanks Riot!  I'm on Facebook, but just can't seem to get into the groove of that site... I dunno, so many sites like that these days it's getting a bit redundant to me.

Yeah I understand. Facebook is the only one I'm really active on anymore, though I have a few sites.

What about alternatives to camp-fires? I was looking at getting a small grill for $25 (gotta have flames for dead-animal flesh and s'mores).

Looked at fire-pits but thanks to the price of cooper the nicer fire-pits come with mortgages.

this is the one we have: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/coleman-packaway-portable-fire-pit-and-grill which was under $100 when we got it- May be discontinued now, but it might be possible to find at a Coleman outlet, etc...

have you checked eBay/Craiglsist? Also Harbor Freight and Sportsman's warehouse sometimes have good deals...

and yes, just checked, it is still available on the coleman website: http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=5065-707&categoryid=4000&brand=

we have an ol' smokey that we bring when needed.  lightweight, easy to deal with, plus you have the option of 3 different sizes.

I like that one...but $90 though. I'm trying to decide since I'm counting on being stuffed from the Faire as I usually am at Scarborough.

Now...word has escaped of my planned crusade and a couple of my friends at PD are wanting to tag along.  May have to upgrade to a big old travel trailer.

you will DEFINITELY be stuffed- Scarby food CANNOT hold a candle to TRF's!!!

I was sorely disappointed when I went to Scarby the first time- i thought ALL faires were meccas of fun yummy foods!

Back to the topic at hand, though...

I like a fire pit for the ambiance- it's nice to sit around. I do imagine you could go to Big Lots and find something less expensive, or as I said, eBay or Craigslist, or the bargain cave at Cabela's or something...

If all else fails, I'm sure plenty of us will be happy to share our fire!!
