Elle, sounds like you had a blast - will check out your pics.

This outfit is for the Chicago Windycon coming up in November.  Just a little handstitching of trim, grommets & modesty panels left to complete Mamma Gkika's bodice - Girl Genius fans will know her.  I won't be adding her draped pearls to the bodice for fear of a wardrobe malfunction, but will make her choker and (unless my gloves finally come in) her opera-length fingerless gloves (I bought some beautiful stretch velvet & goldenrod gimp just for the gloves)

Waistband & tack on bow & skull swag to complete Mamma's skirt:

WooT!!!!  Now tha's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!!  You two are sooooo Steamy!!!  Gaaaahh!  I'm really excited now, and can hardly wait!  I've decided to go ahead and, while I can afford it, buy one of the dress forms they carry at Hancock's, since I've been looking on Craigslist and Ebay for over a year now, and I can't find anything any less expensive than what I'd pay there...  That way I can actually get my skirt done in just a few days, instead of it taking forever!

Elo, I'm lovin' the keyhole top with the chain drop!  ;)  And Mamma Gkika!!!  Hyu har shur gunna be popular vis da Jagerboys!!!   :o  ;)  ;D

I sure wish there was a thick, luxurious Steampunk magazine like The Pyrates Way or Faire Magazine. . . . . no wait. . . .  I found one. . . or founded one. . . . http://www.theconcordium.com - first full-color issue out this Autumn but subscribe now to make sure you get yours!

Is this you BlackFox? Very nice.  ;)

You should join us Anna!  What better time than All Hallows for an out of state Faire invasion?!?  Besides, you still owe me an intelligent conversation, remember?  I can't promise that it won't take place at the pub, but hey, Guinness makes everyone smarter, right? (meaning I hope it will help me keep up!!!)  LOL

I've been thinking of it Rani. It's gonna depend on finding a good deal to rebook my ticket and lodgings versus camping. TRF is fun as heck though, especially All Hallows. That was my first ever out of town trip to faire four years ago when I joined the forum and dicovered what a big faire world it was.

I'll certainly let you know if I do book the trip. :)

Rani Zemirah

Well, it will be my first visit to TRF, and I'll be camping, so I'm sure it will be far too much fun!!!  I'd love to wander the lanes with you, along with all our other Steamy companions!  I'll be sending you all positive ticket/lodging energy!!!  :D

Here's a pic of my sidearm, which has been a work in progress for a good year plus.  This thread made me dig out some of my gear and start polishing the brass...

DBs a SteamPunker too!   There just coming out all the time.  We'll have our own forum if this keeps up.  Might get bigger than a single thread can reasonably contain...but it ain't RF...
I hope my life is an epic tale that ends well and everyone likes to read. --Grovdin Dokk

DB, I am just green w/envy at your talent and imagination, not to mention the still life composition.  If your side arm goes missing, you'll know where to look.  I had that camera in long-lost youth - they were great cameras.

I am once again posting the list of people who will be at TRF in Steam Punk on Halloween Saturday & have requested a badge.  If there is anyone else going to be there in SPunk on that day & want a badge, please let me know so I can make you one, too.  I will not be making extras to take to fair.

Hi, I'm Rani Z, and I have garbing disorder... and it has now extended itself to include my vehicle, or at least the vehicle I covet...

Amazing work also, DB, and very nice accoutrements, as well! Like the filter!!!  Hope you'll be a regular contributor here!!!

One of the key pieces of gear I've been searching for forever is a reasonably priced wristwatch that looks steampunk.  I have the obligatory pocket watch, but want something more interesting.  Most of the watches I come across are the ones that look really cool but cost THOUSANDS.  Has anyone found something of this nature?

Does Relic still exist?  I remember wandering into their store awhile ago (many years ago, actually...) and thinking they had some watches that looked like they could be Steampunk.

You should make something DB. You are certinly talented enough and it'd be one of a kind.

I *did* see a pair of cufflinks I liked once. They were made from working watch parts. Just the inner gears..but they worked. I liked the idea of moving 'links. ")
