Absolutely gorgeous, both of you! I love the clean, simple lines and the colours. I know, I'm biased towards the Florentine style - but that's why it's so nice to see such lovely versions of it!

Margaret - lovin' that chemise/those sleeves!

Margaret

Thank you all for the compliments!  The fabric for the sleeves I was lucky enough to find on Ebay a few years ago with the 'blackwork' already done.  There was just enough to eek out a shirt and a small coif.

Genievea, yes I do make most of my own hats, but the one I am wearing with the purple gown was purchased from The Blonde Swan and I just love it!!

Margaret, you wicked wench, you are *seriously* enabling people with all these doublet pix!  How many have you made so far, and did you have to do much tweaking to the pattern?

(I should have my Simplicity corset done within the next two weeks or so, so it'll be time to start thinking of something to wear over it!)

Margaret

Over the years I have made 5 or 6 doublets and doublet gowns.

This one was based off the Simplicity pattern as well and I need to tweek the style of the neckline, bring out the sleeve head a bit and tinker with the fit.  I also added different shoulder treatments.  So, all in all, not much tweeking.

My little ones kirtle.  Still need to attach the lining to the skirt, but other than that it is finally finished.

Finally! A full picture of that doublet ensemble I was working on for my friend

the pants were WAY too big, even though I used size medium on the pattern. so we had to pin the yoke of the pants to the shirt to hold them up. so i have to adjust that, and take in the waist of the doublet just a bit.  blake is skinner than I thought! lol
