Well, we've managed to get to withing 30 days of faire and I still have no prospects of a paying job.
So, on that note please put me down for all weekends except Highland Fling. I'm serious about my fear of that one.

Highland Fling weekend carries the curse of the scottish play. That's where all the bad things of the season concentrate. It's when performers get injured, things burn, and all kinds of accidents and mayhem take place.

But, Z. We'll miss you *best whiney voice*.  When we were there last year, the only thing that happened to us was that we froze our booties off when a cold front came through on Friday night.

Last season the QOH from Scraby came down and marched in the parade double time with no mark time for Highland fling weekend.   Had a great time with nay a problem, even had good highland weather for the regiment.  Haven't heard if we are doing an invasion this season or not hope so.

I thought the bad luck thing was associated with the Danish play, anyway?!? 

Geez... if I could get down there...  all those kilts, pleats swishing, and the pipes skirling through the lanes...  (sigh)  sounds like a little slice of heaven to me!!!

My will must, of needs, be focused on All Hallow's, though!!! 

I'm having to overcome the obstacle of an obstinate mother who is so far refusing to keep my daughter for that weekend, just because she doesn't think I deserve to go out of town and have grown-up fun twice in one year... (Scarby AND TRF just seems far too decadent for her, I guess) although mere moments before I asked she was complaining that she wouldn't have her granddaughter for Halloween!!! 

Grrrrrr..... so much frustration, so few things I can actually afford to break!!!

Well, it's pretty much official at this point so I might as well "call it"

We'll be scrubbing TRF from the remaining schedule.

1.)  What weekend of faire are you attending?  1st weekend: October 24 & 25 ("working weekend" in that myself, Diamond, and some fellow authors are supposed to do a book signing of our book, "Raising Black Flags".  Some things are still not settled for this weekend.  2nd weekend: November 27-29 (total play time for myself and Diamond)

2.)  How many people are in your group for said weekend? 1st weekend: 2-3.  2nd weekend: 3-4

3.)  Where are you staying?  (example: Caming w/ McLotofus....staying in a hotel...I'm daytrippin') Camping both weekends, place TBA.


We enjoyed ourselves last year on our virgin excursion to TRF and are very much looking forward to this year's trip(s).

Hey Emerald - good to see you here again.  Have you ever spoken with TRF management regarding the "Visiting Performers" shows that are held on the TRF Falconer's Stage?  The Ladies of the Salty Kiss might do quite well there.
