WooT!!!  You finally made it over here, Tammy!!!  Lovin' the Punky witch idea, and the industrial broom sounds funkadelic!!!  Can't wait to see...

Yeah, Sam Elliot is up there in that same class of YUMMY as Sean Connery, in my book!!!  Definitely SIGH worthy...

I finally found an eyeglasses repair kit with the really tiny screwdrivers, so I can take these two old alarm clocks apart and raid it's innards for a few gears, since I can't seem to find the time to get to the local clock repair shops to ask about spare parts.

I'm out for the weekend, with no net access, so I'll check in Sunday evening... Have a really Steamy time, everyone, and when that Punky muse knocks on your door, be sure to offer her the good booze so she'll stick around for a while!!!  ;)

I made my Blythe doll some goggles and found her some tools today. :D

I love the goggles & khakis - looks like she's on her way to the boiler room.  Gotta keep the dirigible aloft.

I hope to be there All Hollows Eve with some type of clothes on ::) I remind me of Sam Elliot....but only different!  ;D After thinking I have complete Civil War Officers uniforms, Union and Confederate, Cowboy/Texas Ranger and Apache Scout as a reenactor. I'm starting to think NDN Punk. Apache with goggles and gear. Humm, shades of Wil Sampson.
What ya'll think?
How could you mank an NDN punkish?

I'm not sure traditional Steampunk has discovered the Americas which would render our Native American folk absent but it's not a real life thing so dress up whatever you like.  Steampunk versions of far less real personalities have won awards.  Punk it up Big Chief Fergus.
I hope my life is an epic tale that ends well and everyone likes to read. --Grovdin Dokk

Since Steampunk is based in the Victorian era I'm pretty sure the Americas had been discovered by then.  ;)
Many people portray characters from the American West and, while they are not common, Native American characters are included.

I'm pretty sure my first words were "I'm not sure".  Thanks for straightening me out though.

I think what she was trying to say in a supportive fashion was, "Rock on Fergus!  Injun Punk is totally cool."

Hmmm, I would definitely draw some inspiration from Mal from Firefly but that's me. ^_^ Kind of a spin like that, the western influences, a little Asian mixed in, and a duster.
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

I've seen pictures of a couple of Steampunk Indians.  One started w/a traditional Indian outfit and added some steampunk stuff to it, the other started with a "typical" steampunk outfit and added Indian stuff to it.  Both looked very cool.  If I had any clue where in the Aether I saw these pictures, I'd give you links. :(

Out of curiosity, why do you spell it "NDN"?  Or is that an acronym for something?

The 18th century glasses I just bought might be of interest for a steamed look. I posted a picture in the period eyeglasses thread http://www.renaissancefestival.com/forums/index.php?topic=2197.15
When you die can you donate your body to pseudo-science?

Awesome glasses, Groomporter!  I really like the side pieces.

Those are very nice glasses.  Certainly Steampunky enough for me.

The American Indians I do reenacting with refer to themselves a NDN's (Indians). I don't know why. :)

WOOHOO!!!  I finally got around to cutting the rivet posts on one of these old travel alarm clocks I've been trying to take apart, and the works yielded 7 beautiful solid brass gears!!!!!!!!!  Plus a couple of really interestingly shaped rocker arms that will no doubt find their way into something or other...  :D

Think I'll cut the other one tomorrow, though, after a quick trip to the dollar store for some safety glasses...  :-\  My little Dremel has a bit of power behind it, and while the sparks were very minor, the tiny flying specks of steel were something of a concern!  LOL

This weekend will definitely include combing the local garage sales and thrift stores for more of these old travel alarms, though...
