Thanks all!  I'm going to participate in a SP photo shoot in a couple of weeks.  I'll include him somehow.  I have an idea - and I hope we can make it blossom. I found his pocket watches today, cleaning up.  He enjoyed SP and was starting to develop his own costume. I'll keep expanding on mine.

From my great loss I have found a greater circle of family.  Thank you all.

Dearest Captmarga, you are often in my thoughts.  I'm glad you will be participating in the the upcoming photo shoot and am interested in how you'll include Christopher.   What a very loving tribute that will be.  Please post the picture.

Steampunk is so very addictive.  I've spent the last two weekends working on a steamy Alice in Wonderland ensemble.  I've started a slate blue can can skirt and am almost finished w/the corselette.  The topper is a burnt orange tailcoat, which is still in the planning stages.  The main fabrics have solid black top hats, tea cups/pots print.  I'll wear it w/my black top hat.  The skirt can also go Lolita (although strictly speaking it is a circle skirt) w/a Victorian apron (which has blue teapots and old fashioned kitchen implements embroidered on it) my tiny white tea cup hat, and white rather than black stockings.

Dear ones, I hope the New Year brings you happiness, peace and love in abundance.

Saw these fell in love and my mom is buying them for me in the dark brown color. Steamy looking in my opinion of course...and I have in mind a pair of pants to go with them. *does happy dance*

And the pants to wear with them... I could wear these to work*grin* I could be at least half steamy at work..and no one would know the difference. LOL

Those are FABULOUS - both the boots and the pants.  I was looking at some low-heel laceup boots on ebay, but I may have to hold off due to finances.  I may do the steampunk photo shoot in striped hose....

Captmarga, I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss!!!  I can't imagine what your going through, but you will be in my prayers.

On another note, Ikkicon is not what I was expecting.  I think it comes down to I am just not a Con person!!  I like being outside, in an environment where I can get into my character and act.  There were fewer people there in costume than expected as well.  There definitely were highlights, like getting to hang with Birdinthelocker and his crew of friends.

I also got to see Young Victoria as well!  It was phenomenal, can't wait to own it and see it a few more times!!!  The costumes were grand and the story was so awesome!
