Lady Ellie

If you are adding a a ribbon rose to a ribbon cross would you use hot glue or fabric glue ?  I want them to stay together for at least a little bit.

ladylissame

Try using hot glue. I've done ribbon to ribbon with fabric glue and it just did not stick well.

I ues E6000 glue for everything. It is holding one of my concret statues together after it had a accident.

I second the stuff! It works just like hot glue, holds together much better, and you don't get burned! :)

OH YES YOU DO!!!. I used E6000 to glue a group of pewter bunnies doing dirty things to my boob this season at the shop. My boob started BURNING! E6000 heats and irritates skin as it cures.

OH MY GOODNESS!!   :o  :o  :o  You didn't?!  I can't even stand having that stuff on my hands for very long!

o_O;;; I had no idea that crap got hot!! WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT ON SKIN!? Chemical burns = BAAAAAAAAD!

I try to be careful when working with any glue, and when that stuff gets on my hands I'm really good about washing it off quickly. I work in a lab, super paranoid about getting chemicals on my skin. :)

It's because I'm a freak and I thought it was funny. Those bunnies were glued to my boob and it was freaking hilarious! But see, not only were they glued to my boob, but they were glued to each other in dirty positions. It was GREAT!

Finnian

I've never made (or received now that I think about it) any faire tokens or what not before. But looking through this thread, makes me want to try and make some! I am trying to think of things I can do on a relatively short amount of time, since faire starts in like....2 weeks or less >> so I was thinking of making a bunch of tiny clay mushrooms/toadstools, and probably just putting little hoops on them so they could be pinned/keychained/hung etc. I'm a fae...I was trying to think of something in theme. XD Maybe next year I will work on something that has a more "personal" touch to it, and I was thinking about making little tags so people remember who they got them from, what year, what faire....maybe on the back my character's myspace or something so people can find me when it's off season. ^^

Tammy

Finnian, that sounds like a wonderful start!! Love the idea of the little tags!!

I saw someone use shrinky dinks as a tag. You can print on the plastic film with a printer, cut it out, bake and voila!

Ooohh that's not a bad idea. I was thinking of making little "old paper" looking tags, and maybe laminating them so they didn't get destroyed. I have a heat laminator in my house thankfully. XD

I've never made favors before...and hadn't recieved any until the Midwinter exchange when I got one of Pinn's threerose pins she posted earlier! I figured with RenDevous coming up I should come up with something...in the past 10 minutes I have (in my head since I'm in class) pretty much designed my favors and my pouch thing I'm going to make to carry mine in that I can pin any I recieve on to! yay! I think I'm going to make some simple dangly beaded things like several people have done before. Since I love disney princesses more than any adult should...and if i can find them, I'm going to get disney princess beads/charms to hang from the bottom...and the beads can all be color coordinated to the princess...something silly like that. I think it will be a great way to tie in who I am...especially since at Rendevous I'll be i my first noble garb ever as Snow White! yay! Finishing the garb is priority right now but as soon as I'm done I'll get the stuff together for favors...
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

I'm already in the process of making 3 different favors for this year.I make them for both of my parents and myself. Theirs were some what easy to think of mine is the problem , but after some debating I think I know what I want. I'll post pictures as soon as I get some made. I love working with the poliymer clay for them.

I could use the input. Can anyone tell what these are?

They look like flower pins....? >> Is this a trap?
