I just went through about 4 months of pictures looking at what everyone has done.  I got so busy that I haven't posted in forever!  Definitely inspired to post pics again though.  I have to say, this is such an incredibly talented group of stitchers!  You guys inspire me to work harder and it's so great to be able to share my love with others who understand what a wonderful hobby (and job) it is. :)

ladyharrogate

you guys are inspiring!!!  I've been crazy busy between faire, then being in the hospital, the holidays and lots of catch up sewing.  Here's some of the stuff that's kept me busy.

Some of the joust stuff I've done in January for a joust troupe called Early Act First Knight (they go into schools and teach character education through the principles of chivalry)....

The good knights tabard with custom designed royal lion emblem

My next Caparison for EAFK (for the good guy)

Last but not least a new caparison for Sir Mauldron (Steve Cowan w/ Hanlon-Lees Action Theater).  He used it the first time this weekend at ARF but haven't seen it on the horse yet.  Can't wait to dig for pictures of this weekends joust LOL

ladyharrogate

weird copying glitch, here's that last caparison.  Sorry about that!

my girly stuff from this fall

Lady Marrianna Killum from CRF.  I love silk dupioni even if it is a pain in the butt!  I always pre wash and then press and underline it well.  Her skirt was lined in Black taffeta.  The edging is black cotton velvet and I used couched cording for the spider webbing.  Some of our costumes are historical with a theatrical bent but I like the way the two balanced with this costume.

Lady Pearl from CRF in her doublet style gown.  This one is made out of a brown cotton velvet curtain (or rather a few curtains) she got off the discount aisle at Walmart.  The skirt is attached and there is a hidden zipper in the bodice.

Lady Rose in her french inspired gown.

One of our beautiful CRF princesses.  I LOVE this girl, she's the perfect big sister for my daughter LOL.

and my beautiful princess (daughter LOL) in her new gown.  She played the younger princess at CRF this year.  The picture of her and I was from a promotion we did.  Every once in awhile I get to put on our old queens gown and play the part of my daughters mother LOL.  I made both the crowns out of filligree.

Wow! Everyone your work is beautiful, you keep us inspired. Great job!  I have finally taken pics of a finished lower class dress, that has been completed for 6 months. This is my first lower class dress and think it will be a lot more comfy to wear on those especially hot days. :)

LadyHarrogate and Lady Anna, those gowns are just beautiful! They make me really want to have a sewing machine!

LadyShadow

Beautiful projects both of you.

Lady Anna I really like the fabric you used for the bodice.

Lady Harrogate - The work for the Knights is just awesome.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

Lady Isabella

Lady Anna,
Looked at all your dresses. Really beautiful! What is the fabric you used on your lower class dress? That black and white is stunning.

Lady Anna

Lady Isabella-  The fabric is from hancocks.. it actually feels and looks more like burlap and has a black velvet scroll design on it. At the time I thought they were not going to have it any longer so I bought the few yards they had left and created this dress. Well, I have seen it there recently.. it's in the designer fabric area and if I remember correctly is only around $15.00 a yard at regular price.

Thanks to everyone who has replied.. your good words give me a warm fuzzy :)
