more progress on Snow White!

finished the bodice minus sleeves today!

I had to fight my way into the bodice and lace it up by myself...it was difficult, but I'm very happy with it and I'm sure when someone else helps me tighten it I'll get the "lift" I'm looking for

What pattern are you using? I love the sleeves/neckline!

It's simplicity2575. I cut the sleeves way way down. They are almost floor length on the pattern and from past experience with similar sleeves, that long they just get in the way and for the look I am wanting the shorter sleeve is much more manageable.

Thanks everyone for the compliments!  I am very happy with the way the colors faded out on the linen. It gives the whole piece a much more lived in feel.

It's actually Simplicity 2573...2575 is for quilted accessories.  :)

That looks lovely!  I look forward to seeing it on a body since I really want to make this one.

ArielCallista, that is one nice-fitting bodice!

Ariel wonderful job on the bodice.  That looks great.

Gevievea - Cant wait to see it finished.  I am another who is wanting to make it.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

Ariel that is going to be scrumptious!

I have almost finished my daughters new hat. The piece is all together and only now needs a band and she wants a pin and a feather "poof" set in the center front.

She wanted the underside of the brim to look like the inside of a mushroom cap! It is about 125" of 3" wide fabric gathered into about 14".  A neat effect though not very HA.

Now to start working on the little cape to go with!

ArielCallista

thanks everyone! this is my first attempt at noble garb ever! I had to take it in a bunch but it was so worth it! I'm hoping to post it with sleeves tonight or tomorrow...

Well, now that I've been laid off I'll have more time for sewing projects, so I think that's the silver lining! ;) Sewing in between job hunting! I'm so excited to get started on projects that are long overdue, and finishing projects that are in desperate need of being finished.  ;D
