As an organizer of Rendezvous, because of the negative reaction and response we had, there will be no Rendezvous correlation to any steampunk event that happens.

BUT- ya'll are allowed to wear whatever you want inside those faire gates (that is acceptable within society). I will enjoy seeing all the wonderful things that people wear, no matter if its steampunk, renaissance garb, storm troopers, etc.

Oh and Capt. Marga- I am loving all the photos that I have seen from that photoshoot. Can't wait to see more in the future!
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

can we just start up our own Steampunk Fair? haha.
I'm partially Scottish, partially Irish, and there's a small amount of Native American somewhere in there...

There is!  There's one is Seattle, just had it's first year in 2009, and I believe they're planning another one for 2010.

And there's also one going on in Dearborn, MI.

Both of which are just about as far as they could be from me... and still be in this country, anyway.

I'm thinking it would be a hoot to get a SP group together and invade local history or science museums.  It would be fun, educational and most of all inspirational.  :D

Have you folks seen this book?

I picked it up yesterday and am reading it.  Seems interesting so far with some good humor.

I saw that at a bookstore at the airport the other day. But since I'm not much for romances, I picked up Robert Louis Stevenson's "Kidnapped" instead. :)

I find myself becoming much more interested in gaslamp fantasy, w/a little bit of fantasy thrown in for good measure.

I think an invasion of the Houston Museum of Natural History or zoo, weather permitting, of course, would be most delightful.  I'm sure there must be a tea room around where we could enjoy a nice cuppa & pastry.  Is there anyone else interested in making a day of it in Houston?

Ahh shucks, I'm near Dallas.  Any chance we could make this closer to me?  I'd go for a spot of tea.  Sounds lovely.  Especially right now in this "blizzard".  It's actually snowing!  And, I mean real snow!  Big fluffy snowflakes!  Not that yucky slushy stuff that never sticks and turns straight to a sheet of ice.  ;)

Seems they have a personal problem, there loss.
There are many places where compromise is expected;
LOYALTY is not amongst them.
