More Snow White pics!

I feel like I'm starting to overrun this thread with my pics...but I'm almost done I swear!

It actually looks like Snow White now...but I still need to make the partlet and cape...and do some pearling...

better view of the bodice...

I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to wear this to Rendezvous!
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

Ariel, I *adore* that bodice fabric!!  Did you tell us what pattern you're using? Is it the Simplicity "Shakespeare in Love," or do I have my projects confused?

Kate XXXXXX

That's come out really well!  I'm beginning to love Snow White!   ;D

amy

Please do keep posting the Snow White Dress!  I love it.   I think all your fabric choices are terrific!  You are bringing the animated dress to life!

Lady Rebecca

I'm sooooooooo excited about getting to wear it!

Thank you sooo much for all your compliments!

The pattern is Simplicity 8881 which is in fact the "shakespeare in love" pattern. Also most of the fabric came from Hobby Lobby in the upholstery fabric department...

oh and Lady Rebecca you're welcome to use me as inspiration!

all that remains is the partlet and cape! oh and a pouch for all my favors...that i haven't made yet lol

Started the most difficult project for me to date. Simplicity 3782 Version B (with a few small changes such as separating the skirt from the dress). Being insired by all of you, I began to teach myself to sew just three years ago. I have done simple drawstring skirts to start and worked my way to men's doublets and pirate coats. But a woman's corseted doublet just doesn't leave much room for error. I mean with the men's stuff I just made sure it was a little big then tailored it to fit. I did need to make changes to the bodice pattern after the muslin mock-up, being that my wife is quite tall and since we wanted it separate, I had to lengthen it and then either size up for the bottom or size down for the top! Finally drafted my own based upon theirs and it all started to go well. Here are a few pics of fabric.

Now with two layers of duck, casings, boning with heavy duty zipties

Now lined and ready to assemble. I also have a piece of the collar fabric which will match the cuffs and underskirt

Paisley! We must burn you at the stake!

Kidding :-D It's very pretty fabric, and I don't bother with historical accuracy either. I have that sewing pattern; it looks nice. I hope to make something using that or a similar one someday.

Lady Isabella

OMG! That is beautiful fabric. Can't wait to see the finished garment.

Thanks for the encouragement and the tips like how to make your own bias tape. This came out really well for me.

And the jacket is done ! (looks better on but I'll save those pics for the finnishe gallery with the skirts)
