Sproglet!!!  I love it!!!  She'll most likely want to wear her SP now for TRF, so I guess I'm going to have to put something new together for that...  And yes, ma'am, we'll be there, gods willin' and th' creek don't rise! 

Hmmm... I'm having visions of something a bit... maybe almost... Jyptian-esque, with a bit of corsaire thrown in, all punked up, of course...  I keep thinking I'll do a Loli the very next time, but then I get all these other ideas, that seem like they would be so much more... I don't know... just more substantial, maybe, than the Loli garb would be for me.  I'm having flashes of a stylized corsaire's coat done in a  deep plum color plush velvet lined with quilted heavy satin, with dark fur cuffs, collar and trim, and embroidered flowering vines in greens, reds, oranges and yellows... 

Oh, uhhh... sorry... just went off into a garb fantasy there for a minute or so...     Gosh, I wish I could just tell someone what to make and have them whip it out for me!  I can design the most amazing things in my mind, but my sewing skills are a bit more rudimentary than my imaginative skills, so I need to do the designing and someone else needs to do the sewing!  It would be an awesome team, I tell ya'!  Oh... and one of those fancy new embroidery machines wouldn't hurt, either...

I'm most likely doing Loli on Pirate weekend - all I need is a little mini tricorn.  Full on time traveler for AHE.  Other than that, I need to work on my Spanish ropa for closing weekend, but I've been saying that for years.

There are tentative plans for going to TRF this year, but I don't know which weekend or if any of them will be when you're there, Taffy. I also don't know if I'd be wearing steampunk clothing. We'll see, but I'd still like another of those lovely badges.

AHE weekend at TRF will also be the weekend that I wear my steampunk, I'm going as a steampunk vampire!!  Should be a blast!

YEAH!  I'd love a badge!!  My SP stuff is the stuff I posted from Dickens on the strand this year.  But of course a bit more vamped out...  have to make it nice and Halloweeny ya know!

Well I feel then that in return I must forewarned you that I'm not only a vamp, I am a steampunk vamp which means I time travel, have amazing laser sighting weapons, and can navigate by airship, steamship, and air balloon!!!

I also ordered this dress from Recollections for my Arcanist persona.   I'm trying to figure out how to accesorize it right now.

I only *wish* I was going.  The dress is absolutely lovely.  Let me recommend that you nip over to the Girl Genius booth while there and pick up one of their lovely brass brooches - http://airshipstore.com/search.aspx?find=pin - to accent your gown.  Say hi to them from Flora while you're at it.  *jealous*

Edit:  Maybe a coordinating hat or fascinator, choker or necklace, maybe little watch hand earrings, lace-up granny boots.  Have FUN!

I reserved a hotel room but see that the deadline for pre-reg was yesterday. Oh well, I hope registering at the door won't be too much of a hassle. I'm wondering when a schedule will be posted. So far this event has been a lot of hype with very little real information.

I think I'm in serious need of a little more steampunk in my life.... last night I had a dream I was invited to a steampunk party way up north that I had to fly out to.  I invited a friend of mine who's also into SP, he came with his gf and then they broke up at the party...  it was a fun dream though, made me really miss my SP stuff!!

The College of Charleston had a steampunk ball a few weeks back, which I attended. It was my first foray into steampunk, so my costume is a bit half-done, but it's there. I'm the one on the right in the ridiculously tall boots. Sorry this picture is so giant.



The googles my friend and I are wearing were made by me; they're just gatorade lids, the hem of some jeans, and leather from a baseball. I also have a gold-painted (water)gun holstered to my leg, using a child's belt as a holster. the rest of the belt can be seen as a bracelet around my wrist. my earrings are made of resistors, as is the ring my friend is wearing. I loved doing steampunk and can't wait to do it again.
