Hey...is anyone doing the Kings feast opening weekend?  I've never done it...and I am thinking of taking the Dirt Fairy's Daddy but would love some company...*cough* *cough*  Bonnie.....*cough*  *cough* lol!   ;) ;D

I have always wanted to go to that!  I will have to see if I can convince MacKee to go.  :)

I went to Kings Feast the first year they had it, 1980 I think  it was. Haven't been able to afford it since. It was an absolute blast.

One of these years we're going to make a concentrated effort to save up for the King's Feast, but it's not going to be this year, unfortunately...  :(  I wish we could!

Oh, WOW!!!  I just checked the price for the feast... and I thought I was having a seizure or something!  I guess I'm just not in the habit of spending that much money on a single meal, and I'm having a hard time believing they could actually charge that for one person!!!  I'm still trying to figure out how I might have read it wrong...  :o

But, you get faire entry, a Kings Feast drinking vessel and attendance to the Kings Feast. That's actually quite a lot for the money.

Well, for us, though, that's just a little under what we spend for both days for tickets (early discounts), Faire food and tips for the entertainers, for the both of us, and as a single parent even that's a bit of a stretch.  A bit more than half that again for camping, camp food and a bottle of something to share, and that's pretty much it for us, besides gas money, anyway.  From everything I've heard it's well worth the price, if you have the means to let go of that much all at once to begin with... but there's no way I will ever be able to justify handing over $200 so my renlet and I can eat a meal, even if it is a feast!  :o  :-\

Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with listening to the rave reviews later...  ;)

Oh, believe me, I've lived on little or nothing for a large portion of my life, so I do understand. But it's not like they are just taking your cash and giving you a kick in the bum to send you on your way. But just as through the rest of life; you make the best of what you have. No shame in that. You can enjoy yourself all the same with a little as with a lot.

Oh, definitely, and with even half that we could both have an amazing day doing almost anything that catches our fancy at Faire... and my mind is already spinning with the thought of being dragged all over TRF, from the archery booth to the axe throwing to the pirate ship, and all the little baubles and perfume vials and crystals and lemon ices and... and... and...  LOL

We have a wonderful time at Faire, even if we can't do everything every time, and TRF is extra special because we also get to camp and visit with everyone, so even when we exit the gates we're still having a wonderful time!  I mean, really... where else can you trick-or-treat for spareribs?!?  :D

I expect that you mean at Camp McLotofus, where bobbing for beer is a recognised sport.

Rani Zemirah

No, actually!  There was a kitchen camp set up on on the corner heading into Faire last year that had ribs on offer for donations, and when I took the renlet trick-or-treating on AHE... I managed to leave there with a plate of ribs for myself, and I think half their candy stash for the kiddo!!!  :D  It was pretty awesome...  ;)

Gonna have to think about the King's Feast...

We already have gate tickets.  How long of an event is it?  One hour, two?

Not to mention, the price also includes premium beverages.  That can be a great price equalizer for those of us who are given to take a drink or two.
