It takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown.

And even less to show somebody the finger.

Birds are good...efficient, simple, and right to the point. I like that, Luciana...but I'll reserve it for the real BHs.

This comes under general insanity... Westboro Baptist Church, famous for picketing soldiers' funerals, has a new target. They are picketing Comic-Con.
They must have branches everywhere, they showed up last weekend here in Eastern Nebraska to protest the funeral of an 18 year old soldier. The kid died his first day back in country.
The local biker clubs had their 'curtains' (sheets on a rope they hold up to block the mourners' view of the protesters) ready and deployed on schedule.  The local media won't give them coverage and everybody else tries to ignore these a$$hats.
Looks like they found another venue to get attention.

You are right ... real BHs earn them. The rest ... I try to ignore them.

Well, try to get a little rest while the kids are still away, dear!

Ok, peeve...
The cable tech support guy who speaks to you like you're an idiot for 20 minutes while he's ascertaining that user error is not a factor in your call, and who can then only suggest that he send an actual technician out to see what the real problem is, because he is not, in fact, qualified to fix anything, and who then gets upset when you ask him to reset the cable modem from his computer, particularly when that actually fixes the problem...  :P

Peeve. Nosy people. ::) I detest the fact that in this small town there are quite a few busybodies. I value my privacy. It irks me when they slowly drive by the house for no other reason than to see what they can see.
But we DO joke about it....last week the same vehicle was doing this while we were sitting on the enclosed front porch. My daughter waited for him to come around again (it was an old guy) and she pressed her face up against the window and twisted her face into a smooshed up grimace...sigh,lol, at least he didnt come back around THAT day.
I guess my peeve would include small town gossip. Rumors get started and they snowball so the end product MAYBE contains a kernel of the truth.  :-\

These scumbags are based in Topeka, Kansas.  When I was coordinating funeral detail while stationed at Fort Know I got a briefing on these screwballs.  Fred Phelps, the leader of the bunch, looks like an olympic class child molester.

When my school did Laramie Project a couple years ago, they came out to protest. Of course, they seemed to forget a few things - my school is private, so they had to protest across the street from the edge of campus; my school has a huge gay population, and happens to be about 5 minutes from the Paseo, which also has a large gay population - thus, we staged a silent counter protest. Everyone gathered and stood on the corner opposite them. They had 4-5 protesters, including a couple brainwashed children. We had over 300 people. They left early.
