I particularly like the dragonfly fabric, but it's all treasure!   ;D

Rowan MacD

We have a store called Textiles here, they do high end upholstery, curtains and custom wedding/party decorating for those rich enough to redo the house every other year 'cause they got tired of the carpet color :D.  They never advertise on TV.
I signed up for their email for when they sell off the 'remnants' which are 60" wide bolts of whatever was left over when they do custom work.  The remnants average 3yds to 30yds.  Last year I scored a 3 yd long (by 36") piece of lace for $7.00 and 10 yds each of fleur de lys faded blue and gold, and a red tudor rose patterned upholstery weight for a total of $30.  Still haven't got around to making them into anything yet (sigh)
I picked up 3 boxes of duponi sillk and brocade sample books with swatches suitable for pouches for free.  She was going to throw them out.
I gave those to a friend, so I don't add to the stacks all over my basement.
What doesn't kill me-had better run.

That dragonfly is one of my very favorites also, Kate, and is going to become 3 beautiful belt pouches, or at least the front panel or flap for them, anyway!  I'm realizing that I can mix the different fabrics together to create unique designs, and use the most beautiful fabrics for the visible parts while keeping the more subtle patterns and solids for the parts no one will ever see.  I also have been digging out my yards and yards of cord, braid, fringe and beaded fringe trims, and my head is just swimming with ideas now!!!  LOL

Rowan, I think I would get myself into sooooo much trouble at a sale like that!!!  The Dupioni samples alone would make me want to throw out everything in my closet that wasn't already fabric or garb, just to make room for them!!!  I would LOVE to have a basement!!!  ::)  :)

Oh, I just got an L-shaped corner desk for my bedroom (because there's no room for it in the "craft room" (dining area), and it looks like I will have enough room on it for both the computer AND my sewing machine, so I don't ever have to put it away again!!!  ;D  Now I just have to turn my dresser into a cutting table and I'm set!  I may only have to leave my room to eat...  heheh

I was so proud of myself today! I went to joanns for some bias tape, and the only extra things I walked out with were two of the new Butterick patterns (onsale for 99cents!), three 100-piece packages of glass pearls, and a beautiful pendant that will look lovely as some bodice jewelry!

You are falling behind in the Stash Building Race, you know!   ;)  This sort of slacking is not allowed!

Okay so I have fallen in love with Doublets and I made my first one (Too Small) and I am in the process of making another one (pictures soon) but I found this fabric that I must make to a doublet and then I think I will make a copper Silk Dupioni with Black Silk Guards.

What do you think?

Also I picked this up for 12th Night, I don't know if I will make this a Ropa or Gabardine, or if it will be the gown, I have 12 yards of this and I paid $55.00 for it so it was perfect for me!

Cilean love that second fabric you picked up.  Just beautiful.

And when it comes to stash building I think I'll be taking last for a while  :'(.  Is in extreme need of a bigger place before I can start actually building  :-\.  I have taken space and then some, but have no more room until I start using it

Cilean, both of those are so very beautiful!  I'm amazed you got such an incredible price!!!  Congratulations!  :)  I can't wait to see what you make with them...

Irish, I'll let you know when I have a pouch done in the Dragonfly...  ;)

FABRIC SQUEEE!  Love them both.

Tell you what, you send them to me and then you won't have to worry about what to make out of them...   ;)

My Family is trying to plan a trip over to England in late October, but I think we should go for the FORM, have you been? I keep seeing some lovely woolens and linens, I need shoes so I was thinking perhaps we should go in November???

Wanna go shopping with me??

Never underestimate the power of Goodwill. We picked up about 4 yards of this 4.5 foot wide home decor fabric for $2.38 today.

It's probably going to become matching dresses for my wife and daughter.
