Do you recognize this garb?

Hello all. I think you guys can agree with me when I say that a lot of times, at faire, I can tell where someone bought their garb from. You can recognize a moresca on the spot, usually. I was at OK renfest a few months ago and I think it got on my boyfriend's nerves with how many times I pointed out a Damsel in this Dress bodices to him that others were wearing. My point is, because I've been looking at garb for so long, deciding which is my favorite and such, a lot of the time I can tell where the person got it from. 

KC renfest is coming up and they just released photos for a press release on facebook. Really great pics I must say, but a few of the ladies garb stood out to me. I really love it but I don't know where they got it from, if they even did buy it. It's very possibly they had it custom made or made it themselves. They aren't tagged in the photos to protect their identity so I can't ask them till September when faire starts if I even see them. Have you guys seen anything like this?







I think they're adorable! Maybe they did have them made and someone recognizes the pattern? Thanks for any help

I'm not sure, but both these people mention using it. 17th century is alas, not one I know much about.

Are you sure it's that pattern?  It looks to me like they are wearing some sort of short jacket over a skirted bodice/corset.

Very cool garb, either way.

It doesn't look like that pattern at all, to me.

The jackets in the pictures shown have tall, grown on collars and bucket cuffs. They end under the bust, like a bolero or a Regency "Spencer Jacket."

The pattern shown has no collar, no cuffs and ends at the hip.

If you look at the yellow outfit in the bottom picture, you can see the separation of jacket and bodice quite clearly, because of the swag of jewelery that goes under the jacket. You can also make out that there is a seam line in the bodice at the waist. So this is a basic bodice with very long peplum skirting attached.

Unfortunately, I've never seen this design before, so I can't help with finding the manufacturer. The closest I've seen is the Damsel in This Dress pirate coat corset. http://www.damseldress.com/

I believe its a custom alteration. The neckline and the tucked in waist are the main similarities.

yeah I can see it being something like that pattern too, but with alterations.

They reminded me of their work, too--but SOOO much more flattering, since they're not underbust!

Ya know, I think Simplicity has something on the order of this.  One of their Pirates of the Carribbean patterns.  I'm quite sure it would need to be tweaked a lot, but it might be an easily available starting point?

Well I went to a little deal KC renfest had last night, a mini faire thing to get the cast use to performing in front of an audience. It was really cool and I saw these same 3 women but they never came up to my boyfriend and I so I decided I would go ask them.

I told one of the woman how much I loved their garb and how I saw it on the KC renfest facebook page and asked her if she had it made or bought it. Sadly I don't think she got out of character because she said something like "My friend made it, she lives right around here but works in the brothel" and I said does she have a shop here, is she a vendor? and she kept up her character and said no she's a seamstress or something like that. She was really nice and I assume a friend of hers did make it but she just wouldn't tell me if it was a pattern or what. But, credit to her for staying in character! They looked even better in real life compaired to the pictures.
