Well, she just finished hemming the skirt and I added the lacing, so the chemise / dress ensemble is complete. The chemise, as I mentioned before, is Frankensteined from McCall's 5401 blouse pattern, and the dress is her own freehand design. After a few setbacks, like cutting one bodice panel with the pattern going the wrong way (and not discovering it until pinning the skirt to the bodice), it's finally done! I helped a little, by doing measurements, adding the eyelets, and doing the lacing. She did a majority of the work on it. And it was 2 and a half days from concept to finished product.

Been awhile since I posted but thought I'd post a few pics tonight.  Two of these caparisons I think I might have posted pics of off the horse, can't remember, but just got pics on horses. The green and silver was a huge project I just finished the end of July, two full weeks of work, 7 yards custom dyed silk brocade, 8 yards of green satin, 200 yards of silver cording for cross hatching on body of caparison and 144yards of 5/8" silver midi braid.  It was a totally new design that is based off of Renaissance horse armor.  Also thought I'd show a new riding cloak I made for an SCA jouster.  I get so busy I forget to post pics and then post too many at once LOL

gonna try this link first and post the others separate because I always forget which Photobucket link to use LOL

Yay, it worked so I'll post the other (hey, I sew for a living, if I had to do computers for a living I'd be in serious trouble!!!).

This is the last set.  I finally took the time to make my dream dress...a dress for me...YAY!!!  It's loosely based off a portrait of Isabele devlois I believe.  I've always loved this dress but needed the colors of our faires royalty because I sometimes play queen for promotions.

Close up...you can see the partlet, beading and the crown I made to match (because every girl needs at least on crown in her closet!)...
Partlet is a silk dupioni beaded with seed beads and freshwater pearls.  I guilded filigree pieces and sewed on jewels I found on Michaels sale rack and glass pearls.

Full Length pics..one alone and one with my daughter whose dress I've posted in the past.  I like the picture with her because my hands aren't covering the dress.  The skirts are beaded with both glass and freshwater pearls.  I also beaded the overskirt with the same.  I am already thinking of more I'd like to do and little adjustments but I think it's just my sewing OCD coming to the surface.  I also was really happy with the grommet holes on this one, I used small metal gromets and then buttonhole stitched over them with cotton thread that matches my gown.  I don't ever want metal grommets again!!!

throwing in one last...I just like this shot because you can see the pearl edged scallops on the bottom of the sleeve caps.  It was one of my favorite details in the picture and I really love the extra surpise touches on a gown.

Lady Rebecca

*Jaw drops* I'm speechless. Your gown (and your daughter's) is absolutely beautiful!!! How long did that take you to do, with all the beading?

But really. Wow.

Lady Rebecca, thank you.  I kind of stopped counting after the first 100 or so hours LOL.  The dress was beaded on airplanes, in a hotel in WI, on my couch and even in my bed late at night!
