I'm thinking you need a new pic for your avatar soon, Lady S, since you've been undergoing such a transformation in the last few months!  The one you have now hardly even resembles you anymore!  Oh, and there is a secret to the avatar pic, also.  Crop it into a perfect square before you put it on photobucket (or wherever you have it) and it won't get pulled out of shape when you post it...

It's lovely, and I adore the draping and the ruffle.  Very nice!

Yeah, I had an productively unproductive day. I cut out the pieces before I went to sleep last night, and then since I was off today, I slept in till noon, and went back and forth between my computer and the dress until about 1am. (I take breaks whenever I realize there's something I have to redo.) I never left the house, and only left my room (where I sew) to eat.

There's some things I wish I could have done better - my serger refused to let me rethread it last night, so nothing in it is serged, and I also forgot to throw the fabric in the washer before I cut it out, so A) it would up rubbing red dye on my sewing machine and my camisole when I tried it on, and B) it's going to be a hand-wash only dress. But I'm okay with that.  

It's an old Simplicity retro pattern 9969. I got it and a bunch of other old donated patterns from the costume shop I used to work for. http://betsyvintage.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=84&products_id=10100

Wearing her hat. She loved it. Next week, she will be wearing the new Cavalier  styled ensemble I made for her. I will post photos.

Oki doke!  Here is a picture of my in my finished gown, with my accessories   I do have to make a minor adjustment to the hemming as the gown was just a bit too long, and annoyed me. But other than that, it was a success! I received many compliments, was stopped to take pictures, and just had a good time

Oh, Lady S, those are wonderful photos, and I particularly like the one of you and your husband... it's so sweet!    The new avatar is much more up to date now, as well!  Remember, if you crop it to a square before you post it here then it won't stretch out of shape.  I can do it for you if you like...
