Too bad we don't have a "Willing to Trade...."  section.

Example I'm willing to trade 3.5 yards of never been used Kona Cotton in Navy for 1 yard brocade.

Why not start one up? Just start up an new topic here, or maybe in the buy/sell/trade area. While I don't have anyhting at the moment to trade, I'm sure others do. Just post a swatch pic, info on what and how much, and ideas of what you'd want.

Attended a small town festival today in my Civil War Day Dress ensemble. There at the Flea Market, there was a vendor selling fabric remnants. I bought two rolls that averaged 5 yareds that would make great period shirts from the 1860's.

Why I need more fabric, I'll never know???

I need to share my excitement and I thought this would be the place to do it as opposed to starting a new thread.

I got $1000 worth of high end fabric for $250 yesterday.  A home designe fabric store is going out of business near my house, and I got the most amazing fabrics for 75% off.  I got 13 yards of $35/yard fabric for $4/yard.

I'm going to attempt a Valios dress.  I never felt like I could justify more than $12/yrd fabric so I've never really been inspired to try to re-create a portrait.  One of my great fabric buys was a red brocade that would be perfect for this dress.  I also got a cream brocade for the forepart and sleeves.

.  I'll post some pics in the new projects space.

Here's a pic of the two lovely fabrics I got for next to nothing. 10 yrds each

The green fabric was more of an impulse buy so I'll have to figure out what to do with it.

I don't need to go to Jo-Anns tomorrow. I've got enough fabric.
I don't need to order more linen from Fabric-store.com, even though it's on sale. I've got enough fabric.

You haven't had enough coffee unless you can thread a sewing machine while it's running.

It'll be OK sugar.  Maybe just do a drive by and not get out of the car.  That may help the withdrawals....

Bad me. I went to Jo-Ann's this morning. ::)  I really really shouldn't have. Found some more material to make a bodice with. Yeah. Bad me didn't really need it. Just liked the way it looked. Going thru the fabric bin at home found stuff I forgot I had. :D.

Went to Jo-Ann's this afternoon as a little reward for taking the first load of boxes to the storage unit.  Walked out with - empty hands!  Don't know whether to cry or pat myself on the back.

Patting you on the back for excellent self control.

I sort of cured my addiction recently...I started collecting machines!! LOL.  I was thrilled to HAVE to go to Joanne's today, dd's summer camp is doing CATS and I have to make her costume.  And of course some toile remnant (75%off) and an embroidered pseudo silk duiponi (sp) fell into the wagon.    :D

Went in to Joann's Wednesday to just sorta see if anything struck my eye to use as a lining for the new leather doublet I'm about to start.  Saw some very interesting silvery/grey upholstery material that I thought might make an cool noble's outfit.  I managed to leave the store without it cuz I wasn't quite yet totally sold on it, plus I'd left my coupon at home.  As well, I took a pic of it and was hoping for some input to help me decide.  By the time I got home I'd aldready decided that an outfit made from it would be amazing.  Got antsy through the night and next day worrying that someone was gonna come and buy my upholstery (that's probably been there unsold forever. :)  )  Went back in yesterday and bought the remainder of the roll.  7 yards.  Plenty for a doublet, capelet, paned breeches & some left over!  Thankfully I had a 40% off one cut coupon that was good for this stuff.  Of course I had to buy something to line it with as well.  :)

My fabric buying has been curtailed a bit since the Joann that was about 10 minutes away closed.  The next closest is about 25 minutes but it's pretty rinky dink.  Fabric selection is relatively limited and they're quite often outta half of the patterns I'm interested in.

God, the fabrics are awesome!!

The green one reminds me qute a bit of the sleeves of this early Florentine dress:

But would also be perfect for these...

My D/H told me I needed a new dress. So I am going to take him at his word and go fabric shopping today, maybe I can get him to go with me. Love to go fabric shopping. Going to attempt to make a nobles dress. I think this will be a while in the works.
